@rippleeffects - my son started off road driving lessons at 12 (also has ASD). He’s very good!

RippleEffects · 21/12/2018 18:03

@IWouldPreferNotTo thank you. I've emailed him. He's just had his last day of school for this year so is in his own shut down zone. We do sometimes manage verbal communication.

Almondio · 21/12/2018 18:08

Expensive item to go with his favourite Xbox game. Several family members have contributed their present budget to buy it, as it's what he really wants and was way higher than we alone have budgeted for his presents. He's going to be delighted as he won't be expecting it, due to the cost. But there's no lovely pile of exciting parcels this year, he'll totally understand that's the pay off.

Wireless headphones. First time he know exactly what he's getting because he tried a few and picked the colour.

My 16 year old son is not your typical boy and again has not asked for anything specific. I have bought him a leather bag/satchel, skin care set, aftershave, a personalised latte mug, a dvd box set, some clothes, and an activity gift coupon for two and the usual PJs, underwear and smelliest Smile

Teedeepie · 21/12/2018 18:15

Whoops... auto corrrect... should say smellies Shock

Year-long Spotify subscription as main gift.

Other smaller gifts - hoodie, pencil case, rechargeable batteries, new phone charger, chocolate pretzels, socks.

My son is 16. I 've got him:

Expensive headphones (seems to be the trend!)
Smart tops from River Island, casual gear from Adidas. Baseball cap. Nike backpack. €200 cash.

Largepiecesofcrookedwood · 21/12/2018 19:34

DS (nearly 15) has a new gaming headset which was £££££ Confused
He's also got a few bits for his scout expedition next year, and some clothes etc.
DM has bought him a semi acoustic guitar that he's been lusting after but which we couldn't really justify.

cptart2 · 21/12/2018 19:40

DS is 16. Expensive trainers, but his last ones lasted a year so I don't mind too much. Already bought his own AirPods. Got a watch for his birthday last week. Has a decent bike. Wants for nothing!
Slippers, dressing gown, chocs, smellies,.

Gibble1 · 22/12/2018 22:42

16 yr old son is getting a curved screen monitor for his computer (bargain in the Black Friday sales), an Alexa with smart bulbs and smart plugs and some black cushions / bedding for his room.

13 yr old DS is getting an Oculus Go VR set, a gaming keyboard and mouse plus some PlayStation branded clothing and PJs.

Both have chocs, heavy duty phone charger cables, iTunes gift cards and earbuds in their stockings.

cece · 23/12/2018 04:47

@Gibble1 it's going ok. He's raised about half. He did a sponsored camp out for a month and he's been selling donuts.

alphabetti · 23/12/2018 20:12

My 14yr old DS is getting Trainers (took him last week to choose and try on some) Latest Fifa, his footy team stadium tour, Dove toiletry set and usual chocolates, stationary and socks as stocking fillers.

BBTHREE76 · 23/12/2018 22:23

DS 15 has got the new Xbox (DHs idea 🙀) as a surprise and new turtle bay headphones and a couple of games he asked for. Plus lots of bits - lynx set, few clothing items, chocs etc

Amazonian27 · 23/12/2018 22:29

No main present here. He’s got bits n bats to open new dressing gown, some new trainers he picked himself, smellies, new headphones, a Carhart top.

CarolDanvers · 23/12/2018 22:32

PS4 and Spider-Man game.
Lego modular set.
Couple of hoodies
Funko pops.

autumnboys · 23/12/2018 22:32

Guitar pedal, Funko pop model. Some cash towards the amp he’s saving for. Guitar T-shirt (hmmm, but of a theme!)

DialsMavis · 23/12/2018 22:35

DS turned 16 this week.
He got a Reading festival ticket 😨 so is just having a
stocking for Christmas.
He has skin care stuff, bath bombs, a t shirt, personalised Nutella jar, socks etc

TerfTerfTerf3 · 24/12/2018 06:26

DS15 "I don't want or need anymore stuff" - nearly new (high end) cricket helmet, MUFC calendar, Match annual, snow globe, game, dvd, stocking full of chocolate.

DS17, who is having driving lessons from January - preloved silver teapot (he likes the 'finer things in life' Grin), mug&posh hot choc, dvd, iPhone camera lens, stocking full of choc.

JustMarriedAndLovingIt · 24/12/2018 09:08

He loves stuff from Footlocker so 2 x tshirts, 1 x hoodie and Adidas trainers.

Groovee · 24/12/2018 09:19

My 16 year old wanted nothing. For his birthday 8 weeks ago I got him a Fitbit charge 3 that he loved.
