Christmas Tipping

Refuse collectors.

Does anyone else do this?

I ALWAYS do a fiver for every bin, which works out at 20 quid over two weeks for all the different collections we get.

15 years ago (when I worked for the council) many, many people did this. But putting out my bins this week, I don't think anyone else in my neighbourhood does.

Do you?

Yes. And as DP works in another similar industry, the tips at Xmas are very much appreciated. We tip the binmen, window cleaner and barber.

I'm leaving a tip for the milkman, who is always completely reliable. And gave a bit extra to my hairdresser.

No not this year .

Yes, we gave the refuse collectors £10.00. None to the postman as we seem to have all different ones, and post from overseas was rarely turning up.

Never tipped the refuse collectors. Maybe that's why they always leave the bins in a stupid place.

I don't tip as a matter of routine, no-one tips me for doing my job, and I don't think people tip as often as they used to. Seems a bit outdated.

I did, however, give a tenner in a card to the DPD man, because he brings all our Zooplus catfood deliveries, which works out at a massive heavy parcel every couple of weeks and we have quite a large front garden, so he's carted well over half a tonne of parcels down our drive this year.

Postman and cleaner have had a tip so far. Bin men come really early so I’ve no idea how I’d manage that but I’ll give it some thought.
