Family of 5 going to Fuerteventura in August for 10 days all inclusive is costing just over £5,000.

I hope that you manage to find a good deal for Dubai, we've never been so I've no idea of costs.

BillyAndTheSillies · 21/12/2018 07:41

Our budget is around 10k when we go to Dubai and we usually go for 10 days in November. October half term the prices shoot up. 2019 will be the last year we go because DS will be in school in 2020 and school holiday prices are ridiculous.
May be worth looking at the Stansted Emirates flight if you're near London/Essex, we paid under £400pp for flights.

Longdistance · 21/12/2018 07:51

We’re doing an AI to Sri Lanka in August, for over two weeks. It’s cost us £5k. Flights aren’t direct, but that’s no issue.
£2k for 10days in Dubai? That’s a push.
Try phoning travel agents. We booked through a company called destination2. We also looked at travel bag.
Also, booking between Christmas and new year is a good time to find a deal.

gerispringer · 21/12/2018 07:55

It cost me 2k for 6 of us to go to Center Parcs at October half term.

SushiMonster · 21/12/2018 07:58

These threads are so dumb. Why don’t you just look at some online booking agents and actually price up the kind of holiday you want?

LardLizard · 21/12/2018 08:03

Sushi because I Ike to get ideas form everyone else
plus I’m interested what everyone else is doing to get ideas for the following holiday

But people post all sorts of random prices for holidays that bear no resemblence to 10 nights AI in Dubai at October half term? How is that better than looking at a site selling holidays?

sm40 · 21/12/2018 08:18

Try southhall travel as cheaper.! I was looking at 7 nights in Dubai this October (for the off peak half term week as we have 2 weeks). It was still about £8k!!!!

ihearttc · 21/12/2018 08:18

We got to Dubai lots and have been several times in October half term. However the cheapest we have got it for a family of 4 (We also always fly Emirates) is £3900 for hotel and flights. Its an expensive week as the weather is hot but not roasting hot and its a way of getting winter sun so they put the prices up.

So instead last year we went to Abu Dhabi and it cost £2100 for flights and hotel. We stated on Yas Island so near the race track (which was amazing-kids could ride a pedal cycle around it at night!), Ferrarai world, Yas Waterpark and the mall. We also went to the mosque which was beautiful. Worth a thought if you love Dubai but want something slightly cheaper.

We've also driven between Dubai and Abu Dhabi (it's about an hour) so you could also go for a day if you fancy it.

LardLizard · 21/12/2018 08:58

already said to get ideas for the next time !!

I heart that is a good idea as we are planning a trip to Warner bros world

Just booked 6 nights in Dubai for Feb half term for three of us and it has cost 5k. It is all inc but even bed and breakfast at other resorts was coming in at 4k. We wanted a beach resort and the cheaper hotels were not on the beach. Also wanted a specific flight time from a specific airport so we had to pay extra for that.

Going to Corfu for a week in May and it's £2k for flights and accommodation.

chipsnmayo · 21/12/2018 09:44

DD and I are off to Australia (two weeks) and NZ (two weeks) in February, staying mostly with family and friends in NZ (South Island + Wellington) so that's pretty cheap.

Flights are about 2.5k. Accommodation is going be about 1.5k but other stuff like petrol, activities etc

Dowser · 21/12/2018 09:57

Just come back from 2 weeks in Tenerife. It cost £750 plus food. Maybe another £500 on top for food and drinks..£1250 for two was a bargain

ihearttc · 21/12/2018 10:03

lardlizard We are very lucky now because DH has just got a job there (He was working in Saudi before) and he starts in the new year so he'll be living there (We are staying here) so all we are going to have to pay going forwards is the cost of the flights as we can stay at his apartment!

Abu Dhabi is lovely though and I actually prefer it in some ways to Dubai.

isseywithcats · 21/12/2018 11:06

2 weeks in Benalmedena Spain all inclusive for two of us next august is costing 2k so you would be very lucky to get four people to Dubai for that budget and its expensive when you get there

birdladyfromhomealone · 30/12/2018 16:21

isseywithcats
Where are you staying in Benalmadena?
We own a 4 bed villa there that sleeps 12 and its less than that for 2 weeks (shock)

isseywithcats · 30/12/2018 18:33

Birdy at the palia de roca on the front hotel cost is £1400 and the rest is flights etc but other half wanted to go all inclusive

MintyCedric · 30/12/2018 18:41

No idea about Dubai as it's not somewhere I'm remotely interested in tbh, but hope you manage to find something that works for you.

For me and DD, £1000-1200 for a week in a lovely cottage in Yorkshire with a hot tub (return visit as I loved it so much last year).

We live on the south coast and are planning a couple of big days out so petrol won't be cheap. Also hoping to break the journey for a night coming back as the last time it was horrendous.

MintyCedric · 30/12/2018 18:42

That's total price btw. Cottage is about £550 for the week, probably about £150+ petrol, food & drink, going out and hotel stopover on the way home.

PenguinPandas · 30/12/2018 18:52

We are going to Sweden and Norway - 4 of us, flights £367 return including 2 large suitcases and seats with Ryanair - into Stockholm, out Oslo in summer holidays, accomodation £1900 for 16 days. Will hire car, around £1k for rental, insurance, petrol, parking, tolls etc. Food budgeting £100 per day, activities budgeting £100 per day. Total cost will be around £6k including airport parking.

needsleepzzz · 30/12/2018 18:52

We're doing Mexico, thats £4200, italy £2k, Canaries c£2k
2 adults 1 toddler.
You'll need to shop around OP, maybe look at Emirates holidays, see if they have an offer seeing as Dubai is their hub
