Buggy for tall toddler

Hope this is the right place for this question... sorry if not.

I'd be really grateful for any information about a suitable buggy for tall toddlers?

My DD is nearly 2 and we have the silver cross zest but her feet are really close to the floor so her blankets and footmuff drag on the floor and / or get stuck in the wheels. She's getting too big for her footmuff really, but the longer ones will likely be even worse in terms of fit?

She's a good walker but I don't drive and still need the buggy for longer trips. Help much appreciated!

City mini has a high seat back. My huge 3 year old (he’s taller than some children in YR still has space to put the hood up. They’re ray robust so definitely worth getting used. Word of caution, I had a 3 wheeled one and I tipped it over twice when dealing with high kerbs one handed (holding older child’s hand) so I sold and got a 4 wheeled one (used). I reckon it’s a pre-2013 model and still going strong.

I was going to suggest the zest but clearly your toddler is taller than mine Grin (and mine's pretty lanky!) as he was able to use his until fairly recently (he turns 3 next week).

Although our zest has proven a little delicate anyway and didn't really survive the holiday cobbles so maybe not the best 🤷‍♀️

With DS I've resorted to getting him to balance bike everywhere because he's a dreadful lazy walker and demands to be carried. Maybe look into a balance bike or scooter and start encouraging your DD to practice now because it sounds like she might need to be travelling under her own steam at some point too, and IME a set of wheels does make that a lot easier if you discount the steering towards innocent bystanders!

We have the city jogger gt and zip. The zip folds down small and is good for small boots etc but the gt is very robust. We have the three wheel and never an issue with tipping. Both my tall 3 year old and 8 month happily interchange in the buggy as straps are easy to adjust.

My very tall boy was fine in the baby jogger city mini. In fact he's 3.5 now but as tall as a 5 y.iand still fits in it (just) if he's tired and his little sister let's him!

I have the Maclaren XT for my tall 2.5yo (who gets mistaken for at least 3yo). Feet no where near the floor and it has a little foot rest.

I think you will struggle to find one with a footmuff at that age.

My lo is 3 in April but very tall wearing 4y clothes we have the mamas and papas armadillo city and he still fits in fine and still will for longer..

Babyzen Yoyo is actually very good for tall toddlers - DS is nearly 2 and the 99th centile and has plenty of leg room even with the cosy toes on.

We had an Out and About Nipper, amazing pushchair and worked well for my very tall toddlers!

City mini gt is the best buggy and is massive and comfy.

Out n about nipper 360! Massive length & width yet super light and all terrain. You could fit a 10 yr old in one!

Mummylife2018 · 19/12/2018 15:35

Oh and you can get foot muffs
