My son keeps getting theses bites. at first we thought bed bugs but can't find any gave checked all the mattress and sheets but no sign at all. Chemist suggested bed bugs to. No one else has got any bites. He's just had more come up in the last 30 mins and he's not been in his bed room.

My legs look like that from flea bites at the moment. Haven't seen any except when I look on the animals (new kitten brought them with her, was a stray).

Another one thinking fleas left by previous owner. They're probably in the carpet and as he's sleeping so close he's an easy target.

They look like flea bites to me. We had a flea problem this past summer, my daughter was the only one to show bites and they were all over.

I've had experience of both bed bugs and fleas (fml!) and for AGES it was only me being bitten so nobody would listen until they saw the buggers! They aren't always easily seen. Also bed bugs "showed themselves" after we hoovered the furniture and gave it a good clean so I think it must have been the disturbance that brought them out!

It took us 6 weeks to find them.

I think given that you've already tried hard to get rid of them it would be worth seeing if your council have a recommended bug/flea zapper and getting some advice.

Looks like flea bites. Happened to a friend when they moved. Apparently (according to the pest controller) their eggs can lay dormant for years and come alive with environmental changes. Even if the carpets were changed, the eggs could've been under the skirting boards / in floorboard cracks etc.

Fleas.
Once the host cat moves house the fleas turn to their second best dinner.

I found a bed bug last night, I'm going to ring the council this morning.

Oh yuk.
Bad luck.
Don’t move his stuff anywhere else I the house, don’t let the kids play in there, you don’t want them transferred throughout.
Though if the previous owners / tenants had them they may we’ll be everywhere.
Or your Ds could have brought them from a friend’s house.

longwayoff · 20/12/2018 08:37

Urgh. Moved into new house and could see fleas jumping onto my ankles. Shudder. All ex owners carpets out immediately and council pest control to spray house. Not everyone reacts to flea bites by getting the big itchy bumps, get some anti histamine cream for your son and have the house decontaminated.

I'm really sorry Millie - that is bad news.
Wash and bag what you can. He's going to need to keep sleeping there as if he moves they will. I got the Rentokil spray from Homebase as an interim measure whilst we waited for treatment.

I hope the council can help you pdq.
