Anyone with a year 7 who's shattered?

Poor DD is exhausted. Started year 7 in September, lots more walking, homework and she looks so tired and drained. She breaks up tomorrow thank goodness. Any others?

Not year 7, but my year 1 ds who's nearly 6 is the same, just exhausted.

Mummyilovejokes1 · 18/12/2018 13:14

My ds age 4, so reception year is permanently exhausted! Breaks up tomorrow

School called yesterday to ask if dd (y8) was ok as she was v stroppy and weepy. She is beyond knackered.

Yes! My Y7 has massive dark circles under his eyes and voluntarily went to bed at 8.30 yesterday Shock
my Y9 is tired too TBF, this has been a really long term.
They have just broken up and I reckon that they will sleep for a couple of days!

dancemom · 18/12/2018 13:39

S2 here and yes, she's even commented on how much bitching and infighting there is currently in her year, think they are all feeling it.

They finish up on Thursday here.

MrsSup · 18/12/2018 13:45

My Y3 ds has tipped over the edge... he sobbed his little heart out for an hour or so last night after a character died in a cartoon he was watching. School doesn't break up till Friday. I'm not sure we're all going to make it!

Juanbablo · 18/12/2018 15:55

Ds2 is ridiculously tired and just a little under the weather. He's 4 and loving reception but...wish it was Thursday already!! Dd and ds1 are holding up a little better.

Bluetrews25 · 18/12/2018 16:32

It's a long tiring term for many academic years if I remember rightly. They deal with it better as they get older. I recall it was worse at primary.
Being in a new school in Y7 has probably been a big adjustment, TBF.

Titsywoo · 18/12/2018 16:36

My year 7 ds seems fine but my year 9 dd is very very moody and argumentative (even more than usual!) so I think she has had enough. Friday half day break up here though.

Notquiterichenough · 18/12/2018 16:37

Yes, my DS2 is year 7, and is really struggling. His asthma is playing up, he looks grey, he's got rings under his eyes, and he's not sleeping. They don't break up until Friday, which feels really late.

He's missing primary school Christmas too. He actually cried last night. Sad

JoeElliotsMullet · 18/12/2018 16:38

Dd1 is a v young P2 and she is absolutely shattered. They went back on Aug 21st, had a week off in October, and finish this Friday. That’s a four month term!

Zoflorabore · 18/12/2018 16:39

My year 11 ds is destroyed, weeks of mocks and constant revision. He can't wait to finish ( Thursday at 12.10 ) and my year 3 dd is the same. She was a nightmare to get up today. She doesn't finish until 12.30 on Friday. Hopefully all of our dc can have a good sleep at the weekend :)

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 18/12/2018 16:41

Yup! My DD started yr7 in Sept. Up earlier, bus trip, long day, bus trip home later. She enjoys school but is knackered.

PearlandRubies194 · 18/12/2018 16:43

I’m not sure about where pp live, but here in Wales our school’s don’t break up until Friday. We now have two weeks after Christmas rather than a week before and a week after.

My youngest seems okay but I’m absolutely knackered! Between school fairs/concerts/church services and all the Christmas rush - I just can’t wait to switch the alarm off on Friday! My neighbour said her son, who’s just started Y7, was very low in mood and tired. She’s sure there’s no bullying or underlying issue and that he’s just tired.

Llareggub · 18/12/2018 16:45

Yes, I have an exhausted year 7 too. In fact he has caught all manner of bugs this term, far more than in previous years. Roll on Friday!

billybagpuss · 18/12/2018 16:46

This has been a ridiculously long term. I am a peri music teacher, I aim to do 30 weeks over the course of the year, for family reasons I've only done 12 but I could have done 14 of them this term - thats almost half the year. On the plus side next term is comparatively short.

reddA · 18/12/2018 17:11

My Year 10 DS was struggling last week, I let him stay home one day, he's doing fine academically but he looked absolutely exhausted - teenage boys seem to sleep A LOT! Confused I honestly don't pander but I could see he needed rest. Roll on Friday for both of us :)
