What Christmas present did you get as a child that you'll never forget?

For me it was a cabbage patch doll when everyone was going mad for them in the 80's. My mum swore blind for months that they'd sold out and it was gonna happen for me. I remember unwrapping her and being overjoyed, and my mum having that smug look on her face Grin. 20-odd years later I inadvertently named my DD after the CP doll's middle name Blush nothing ever beat that present! She's still in my attic (the doll. Not my mum)

A Ronco Mr Microphone that came with a transistor radio so you could sing along to songs on the radio. It was about 1982.

Also, one of those tiny Casio keyboards with different rhythms and 4 different instrument sounds on it. Must have been 1984.

My a la carte kitchen. Oh my days it was everything I’d hoped for (but apparently used up all my enthusias for cooking)

A cuddly dog toy that was a pyjama case. I saw it in a shop window and fell in love with it. I was amazed when I was given it for Christmas.

A la carte kitchen for me as well. I also got a My Little Pony personal radio. The reception was rubbish but I loved it.

My girls world complete with blue eyeshadow, felt tip pens for hair colouring and the central piece of hair that could grow longer or wind back in shorter. Spent hours making her beautiful!

We were so poor growing up I can remember being obsessed with keyboards/pianos and such like and was so delighted to get a keyboard for Xmas. I also got a pair of leg warmers that I didn't think I'd be getting so was one happy kid that year.

Fast forward 30 odd years with 2 demanding DCs of my own who get stacks of gifts and are unhappy after 10 mins. The youth of today is so ungrateful Hmm

Fisher Price Kitchen. The elves couldn't make it the first year that I asked for it but Martin the man who made my parents kitchen gave them lessons and they made it for me the next year. I was thrilled with it.

YY @HighlandWorrier I really have to try hard and keep my patience on Christmas Day when mine are having a moan mid-morning because they want more chocolate/when's lunch ready/he has more new toys than me. I don't want to be that mum who always says "When I was little we got sod all" to the ungrateful buggers but it's very hard.

A Commodore 64 computer for me and my brother. We never in a million years dreamt that we'd have one of our own. It's still in the loft.

Sindy House, 3 floors with a spiral staircase and a lift up the side. I'd still love one of those now.

The most beautiful Victorian style wooden dolls house.
It was so, so pretty.

There was a specialist dolls house shop in my village and my dad brought all the wooden furniture from there too.

God, I loved that house.

I wrote to Santa asking for a dolls house. He wrote back a letter in my stocking saying he was terribly sorry but he’d had so many little girls asking for dolls houses that year he and the elves run out of time.

He left a book for my dad under the tree on how to make a dolls house though. My dad did then make me a dolls house that year and it was so exciting!

A Sindy House.

I must have been about 5 and I ran into the living room on Christmas Day and was amazed by the size of it, it was bigger than I was!
