I have some audible credits and some very long car journeys coming up.
Any suggestions?
Done David Walliams, Harry Potter, Roald Dahl, and How to train your dragon.
Thanks!

Just came on to say Cabin Pressure and see it was the second suggestion!

Once upon a time in zombuevilke podcast

Any of the Terry Pratchetts read by Tony Robinson, but start with the Wee Free Men as him reading the Feegles is hilarious.

My 12 year old is very happy listening to Neil Gaimans Norse Mythology as well, but that might just be him!

DPotter · 14/12/2018 18:38

The Demon Headmaster has us enthralled on a trip to France.
Would agree with Terry Pratchett and Cabin Pressure

confusedandemployed · 14/12/2018 18:40

Definitely Cabin Pressure! Hours of giggles for everyone. My nephew is 10 and thinks it's brilliant, as does his mum (DSis, 42) and I (45)

taratill · 14/12/2018 18:41

At their ages and if they enjoyed Harry Potter I'd say the Complete Works of Sherlock Holme, narrated by Stephen Fry.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 14/12/2018 18:43

Cabin Pressure. Everyone we have introduced it too - adult and teen - loves it. And there are 27 half hour episodes...

sonnybeaudelaire · 14/12/2018 18:44

A Series of Unfortunate Events - got us through many long car journeys when they were that age. Entertaining for adults too.

Bowerbird5 · 14/12/2018 18:46

Jacqueline Wilson was great on our five hour drive to Scotland. Had a few lesser known authors too. One was a wartime one it was great but can’t remember the name something like Come home.

taratill · 14/12/2018 19:02

Definitely going to get Cabin Pressure, will be good for our long drive to Cornwall at Christmas.

PandaG · 14/12/2018 19:06

Hmm, Sherlock Holmes quite gory in places, we started listening when youngest dc was 11, and I remember thinking it was borderline ok. You will know your kids though.

What about The Hobbit, if that goes down well you can then listen to Lord of the Rings.

PandaG · 14/12/2018 19:14

Our dc lapped up the 39 clues series, there are lots of them, we stopped after the first series (I think there are 4 or 5) as our dc had grown out of them. We found them acceptable listening on many a long car journey.

Agatha Christie's can make good listening too?

TooDamnSarky · 14/12/2018 19:15

Thanks all.
Will give cabin pressure a go.
We tried Sherlock Holmes but the younger ds took against it and decided it was "too complicated".
I don't think I can cope with LoTR or the Hobbit. Done the films to death.

Btw another good one is Northern Lights.

You can get Cabin Pressure for free by downloading the podcast called Cumberbin's Treasure.

Percy Jackson and Magnus Chase audio books have gone down well with my DS11

gigglingHyena · 15/12/2018 14:42

Eva Ibbotsson. The dragonfly pool an journey to the river sea are both good. Even those aimed at a slightly younger audience have kept us entertained in the car.
