I’m lacking this year. I’ve had some health issues and will be finding the results on Christmas Eve.

What gets you in the Christmas spirit?

I have a room full of presents to wrap and zero motivation Blush

What’s your favourite part of Christmas?

I’m all about those turkey and stuffing toasties after 🤩

I got a party pack and a couple of extras Youmatter. I eat small meals, only breakfast and supper, but I snack on savoury things or fruit in between. And yes, I really like sausage rolls. Xmas Grin

Weirdly, watching Groundhog Day last night, even though it is set in February Grin

Groundhog Day absolutely has that vibe I get it!

Absolutely jack-all. I never get the ‘festive’ spirit. Ever. I truly see it as something to get through, smiling and nodding.

I do like buying gifts for people and really thinking about what they’d like but hate the over consumption (on all levels).

I turn down most group invitations and would honestly love to be able to be a dormouse (hibernating) at this time of year, yet social norms dictate I must see at least some people.

Youmatter · 14/12/2018 23:54

I’m with you on the socialising thing. I don’t know if it’s being around all the happy smiley people that makes me feel worse about myself but I leave feeling like the life has been suckled from me a little

Hearing "Fairytale of New York" playing in the shops (Pogues not Ronan Keating ) and realising it's the 'proper' version with the arse/faggot/scumbag lines , not the neatly sanitised one .

I love Christmas music

Bloodybridget · 15/12/2018 03:29

Making and sampling my first batch of mince pies. Switching on the tree lights as soon as I come down in the morning - I love our tree this year. Getting out and arranging all the silly bits and pieces of decorations, the Nativity tableau of dolls house people I dressed, my winter woodland scene with the plastic wolf and ridiculously large squirrel! Playing my many CDs of Christmas music while doing previous.

Philomensapie · 15/12/2018 06:57

I should have said that the olives are Gin infused. Xmas Grin

elQuintoConyo · 15/12/2018 08:59

Oh yes, the Happy Drowning Olive drink Grin
