My son is 3 and regularly gets invitations from other kids in his nursery class for birthday parties.

How much do you spend on the gift?

I've been spending just shy of £20, but starting to think this is too much.

About £10 value but I stock upon bargains...so it’s more like £8.

£5. I often get a magazine and some sweeties.

Eerie! Okay, time to tone it down a bit then.

Never more than £10

Depends on the party. If i know its an expensive venue i spend more on the gift. Usually up to £15.00. Only more than this if the child belongs to one of my friends.

Recently among 5 to 6 year olds in our circle..... Each child brings a gently used book and each child goes home with a different book. Works perfectly.

@LadyB49 that's such a great idea.
