Can't work it out. Though I bet it's obvious!

Hope that helps.

EssentialHummus · 13/12/2018 09:55

Usually meant passive aggressively.

convertingroom · 13/12/2018 09:55

Hope this helps

AndThereSaw · 13/12/2018 09:59

Hope this helps
or Happy to help.
not usually passive aggressively, I don't think, but used to finish a factual explanation which isn't particularly flowery.

Hope it isn't taken to be passive aggressive as I use it (and don't intend it to be) - usually when I've written what's probably a dull but hopefully helpful answer!

SylviaAndSydney · 13/12/2018 10:13

Type “HTH meaning” into Google and you will have your answer.

HTH.

^that is the way it is used 99% of the time on here, as PP said, usually always passive aggressively.

😱 RTFT means Read the Fucking Thread? I don’t think many know that as so many people type “haven’t RTFT” (I assume they mean Read the Full Thread).

SylviaAndSydney · 13/12/2018 11:16

Read the Fucking Thread is soo much more apt though when the comments are plenty and a poster wades in.

BarbaraofSevillle · 13/12/2018 11:18

I always thought people said that they 'hadn't RTFT' meaning, no I haven't read the fucking thread, so don't bother telling me to RTFT.

I suppose if people wanted to be really passive agressive, they would post:

lmgtfy.com/?q=hope+that+helps

HTH Smile

RTFT means Read the Fucking Thread? I don’t think many know that as so many people type “haven’t RTFT” (I assume they mean Read the Full Thread).

Anyone who works in software will assume it's derived from RTFM (an exhortation to users to read the manual if they don't understand something, we don't write the bloody things for fun) ... no-one would seriously expect anyone to read the full manual so that's clearly not what the F stood for. In the context of a thread, 'Full' does make sense but I don't think that's what it originally meant.
