Both DSs had porridge for breakfast.

Walked DS1 to school with toddler then watched his Christmas performance, walked toddler home via the postbox to post Christmas cards (fresh air, rosy cheeked togetherness tick)

Apple for snack, then lovely wholesome interactive activities all morning....painting, puzzles, snap, and wrapping Christmas presents. I did not lose my temper once and it was joyful all round.

Nutritious lunch of avocado on whole meal roll, pieces of cheese and satsuma, with only water to drink of course because I am absolutely smashing mothering today.

He's now gone for a nap and I will tidy up and do some admin.

Later we are baking banana muffins before walking to collect DS1 from a play date (fishfingers for dinner, OK it's not a flawless 100% score, no YOU'RE actually crap really)

Where's my fucking Mother Of The Year badge? I have got this today and it feels good!

Hope you're all having similarly good days.

Well done OP Smile I have done good daughtering and wifeing today.

Went to yoga with mum - helped set up and put away the stuff/sort the hall out.
Went to lidl with mum - helpful for both DM and DH as I bought Christmas pressies 'from' PILs.
Had a telephone job interview - the potential extra money will make DH happy!
Did laundry- more good wifeing
DS is having wholesome activites and nutritional food at nursery.

I'm just off to pick him up and then I will reward us with Peppa Pig and lidl bakery snacks.

I love days like that.. I think if I had a camera on me today I would be proud for people to watch that parenting..

Then others I think thank fuck I don't..!

Failed at parenting yesterday, last ballet class of the year and I didn't get the ballet teacher a gift so DD was the only one not going up and giving her a present bag of shite

You beat me at "porridge for breakfast" - it was a 'cocopops or meltdown' morning here and I chose the former Grin

Someone of you really are awful mothers aren't you! Are you sure this is the thread for you?

Seriously though, I bloody love women and what we do for our kids. It's absolutely inspirational so much of the time.

I have not bollocked any children, walked round a national trust park with baby in sling and only ate one cake today. I am a hero.

AnnDerry · 12/12/2018 17:41

I have come home from work to discover that my teens have cooked dinner. And DC1 sent me a text to say how much they appreciate me. And no, they aren't after anything.

It's been a long wait but maybe I did something right once...

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 12/12/2018 17:43

I feel like worst Mum ever today!
Needed to be in work early. 2 year old DD poorly, as I was leaving Dd screamed out for me, refused to let go of me, DP had to peel her off me whilst she struggled.
Stood at bus stop, I could here DD crying saying she wanted Mummy.
I got on bus and cried!
Had to stay late tonight! I cannot wait to get home to give her the biggest cuddle ever...unless in true DDs style she ignores me and has forgotten she missed me today!

Bring on tomorrow, hopefully DD is feeling better and I can go to work feeling less of a shit Mum!

But, well done to all you Mummy's smashing it today! Grin

Autumnnymph · 12/12/2018 18:36

Well done OP!

I am feeling good today as well ( after my rant last night about DD7) - DD has been pleasant and polite all day - I haven’t yelled the few times she hasn’t. I have managed to finish up work stuff ( WFH today), bake brownies for DDs teachers AND ensure the kitchen doesn’t look a mess. Having the laundry whirring upstairs and have also had DD compliment me on the curry and fried rice I made for dinner.

Life is good. Clue for it to be absolute shit tomorrow.

megletthesecond · 12/12/2018 18:41

I don't think I've had to shout yet which is a minor miracle. and yes we were at school and work between 8 and 6.

Apart from that it's been bribery and eye rolling. And a ready meal for tea. But with peas that at least counts as 1 portion of veg.

QuilliamCakespeare · 12/12/2018 18:49

Oh I love those (rare) days where I feel like an advert for motherhood. Most of the time I'm swearing under my breath and throwing lovely home cooked meals in the bin.

Well done OP. You're nailing it!
