Neighbours never collect their parcels!

I'm always collecting their parcels and they take ages to collect it I seen him in the street the other day and he asked if I had one so I gave it him.

This one I've had for three days now and I know he is home as is van is parked outside my house.
I don't understand why he doesn't just collect them?

I don't mind collecting them but days go by with them in my hallway.

Id stop taking them in. If he cant be arsed coming for them they can't be that urgent so let him get them from the depot at the weekend

winterspice · 12/12/2018 07:44

I know I'd go drop it round but then he's going to expect me to do it all the time.

myusernamewastakenbyme · 12/12/2018 07:45

YepImafraidIchangeditagain · 12/12/2018 07:47

Don't take them in anymore! You can refuse.

winterspice · 12/12/2018 07:48

@NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 because I wouldn't expect someone to drop my parcels round.

He knew he had one the other day didn't even collect just shouted excuse me in the street

I live in a row of houses and have lovely neighbours who I take parcels in for except for my immediate neighbour. They are CF's of the highest order and have taken the piss so often no one else will take in their parcels now either (or really talk to them!). I started refusing their parcels about 6 years ago after they didn't collect a rather large heavy parcel despite me watching the delivery person put a card through their door.
After 10 days I put a reminder through their letterbox and explaining that it was too heavy for me to carry but they didn't come and collect it.
After another 5 days I'd had enough. At 6am I rolled the box down my steps end over end, across their front lawn and manhandled/rolled it up their front steps where I left it up against their front door.
It had rained heavily overnight so the box was now soaking wet, no longer looked square and was a bit battered but the best thing was the lovely clunky, crashy sound the parcel made every time I rolled it along the ground & up/down steps.... and they never said a word.

I refused their parcels every single time after that but as they never learned their lesson and took the piss so often with the other neighbours, no one will take their parcels in now. The situation also isn't helped by the fact that they have very loud outside parties, have a barking dog and take up all the parking spaces in our parking area. The only time that I felt a bit bad about it was last Christmas when the delivery man burst into tears when he couldn't find anyone to take a parcel in for them and he just wanted to go home but I held firm and said no.

So don't feel bad about saying no. I found that all the regular delivery people no longer ask neighbours to take in their parcels so now I only have to say no every few months or so. Just because you're home it doesn't mean that you have have to be the local collection hub for all your neighbours. If your neighbour asks why you're now refusing then explain why and then walk away.

AGHHHH · 12/12/2018 14:39

Just refuse them.

Ethel80 · 12/12/2018 14:51

Some couriers are really shit at leaving cards, could it be that?

DoveSecret · 13/12/2018 06:56

Stop it. Simple.

winterspice · 13/12/2018 08:00

It was oh that collected it they still haven't came for it.

Amazon usually put that they left it with a neighbour and number when you track it though as well as the card.

I have a neighbour like that. We've started taking bets on how long it will be in our hallway for.

winterspice · 13/12/2018 08:33

@Theoryofmould 🤣🤣 I just don't get why they don't collect it mind boggling.
