Live classical music

DD11 plays 2 instruments and really enjoys listening to classical music. I'd love to take her to a live performance but don't really know where to look. Ticketmaster from by even seem to have a category for classical music!
Looking for something that's lively and interesting. In the South east, Oxford, London, Milton Keynes all easy to get to but happy to travel.

Any recommendations?

There will be literally hundreds of concerts to choose from within your area, so it really depends what you want and how far you want to go. If you look on the websites for the Barbican or the South Bank Centre (both in London) you can search for classical concerts. As your daughter is only 11 I think it would be amazing for her to see some young people playing. The National Youth Orchestra is amazing, and all the players are under the age of 21 - they are as good as many professional orchestras. Looking on their website I can see that they are performing at the Barbican on Saturday 5 January, and the ticket prices are very reasonable too. And it sounds like a nice programme. You'll probably find there are local youth orchestra concerts closer to home as well, and it might inspire your daughter to want to join an orchestra too (depending on what she plays!).

There will be loads on in Oxford, student orchestras and other student groups. Churches often have classical concert series too. I grew up going to concerts of amateur orchestras and other groups my parents played in, never professional concerts, and it exposed me to a lot of different music.

London Symphony Orchestra does family concerts, suitable for children. I bet you'll find other ensembles do similar.
