Can anyone give me some holiday inspiration please? One DS 10. Don’t want another week sitting by a pool!

Just after some ideas please. We’ve done a few all inclusive type holidays which we’ve all enjoyed but I always feel a pressure for DS to make friends and it doesn’t come easily to him. We do always get stuck in and play with him but now he’s 10 I think we’re starting to cramp his style. Last summer we stayed in this country and loved it. We had 2 weeks in Cornwall-lots of activities the whole time. It wasn’t relaxing but DS was entertained and it was proper quality time just the 3 of us.

I’d like something like that again but in Europe. Maybe a city, Lakes, mountains type thing. Just not another sitting around a pool!

Budgets about £3k for 2 adults 1 child. DH fancies skiing but I think it’s out of our budget.

I'm considering booking a neilsons holiday for me and my 10 year old next year. Prices include all activities and most meals. Plenty for the adults and DC. www.neilson.co.uk

Does he like history? If so how about Rome? Amazing city and loads to do and I never quite get over the fact that actual Ancient Romans could've been standing in the actual spot where I'm currently standing! Also, the ice creams are sublime!

Moraine is lovely
Straight out of Heidi
We stayed in a Pierre et vacancies up the mountain at avoriaz
Was very cheap in summer as it’s really a ski resort and had no cars allowed in the village so quite child friendly

If you go there...do be sure to go to
Les linderlais the goat village...hope it’s still there
It was over 20 years ago

I would also recommend Neilson beach club. Great kids clubs and he could learn to sail or kayak and get the qualification. They also have guided cycle rides for kids and adults.
We have been 3 times, adults and sons all loved it.

Budapest is quite a family friendly city. I'd consider Barcelona too.
