3 year old constantly clearing their throat

As the title says really. I have a three year old that is constantly clearing her throat. She hasn’t got a cold or cough (although did have about 6 weeks ago), but not a bad cough or cold by any means. She had been doing this for about 4 weeks now. No other symptoms at all, I’m not sure whether I should be getting her checked or not. Does anyone have any advice please?

It can be because of post nasal drip which can be allergy related.

Our DS1 did this and it turned out to be asthma.

It could be a ticket, my DS did this but grew out of it eventually. Thankfully it was replaced for a quiter habit!

Could be a tic rather!

My nephew used to do this - it was a childhood tic that he grew out of, along with a couple of others.

I did this and it turned out to be a thyroid issue.
I was a lot older though.

second vote for post nasal drip and allergies.

My DD did this for a bit (when she was 4). I’m convinced it was a tic - it only happened at certain times of day.

My son has Tourette's and throat clearing is one of his tics

My almost 3 year old did this for 3 weeks then suddenly stopped. It was as if he had learnt how to do something new and wanted to show off. He didn't have a cold. Never does it now. Hoping the same for you!

I used to do this for comfort - psychological more than physical - but my parents kept shouting at me until I stopped. If your daughter isn't bothered or in pain, is it a problem I wonder?
