Please help

If you can, and especially if of Asian or other BME heritage, consider joining the bone marrow donor register.

you don't have to contemplate your death to join a register that will save lives. As you think about what you are going to give for Xmas, do think about whether you could give life. Yes, I know I'm writing emotively, but for a few days of disconfort/pain, you might be someone who could save a life

Anthony Nolan or via mention it next time you give blood (if you donate, iñ which case huge thanks already)

Can anyone register? I'm in Scotland, tried to register a few years back and would have had to travel quite a distance. Has it changed with these swab packs? Can I register from home and travel only if I'm a potential match?

BigFarmer · 09/12/2018 20:21

Nvm I'm too old now.

Is it free? I'm too old for Anthony Nolan and last time I checked you had to pay about £50 to join the other one.

Thanks to those who have bumped the thread!

I'm afraid I don't know the detail of how younregister, other than if you're a blood donor, in which case you sign one extra form at your next donation, and they take one extra vial of blood for whatever test they do to get your basic info into the system. Detailed tests only if you are potential match, in which case I expect there's a way to get expenses paid.
