Any make my mind up - friend of a friend is here now putting some Lino down in my hallway. He never wants any money for any off jobs he does but I always insist. I do t know how much to give him today - what do you think? He's been here four hours and is nearly done. It's just labour - I've bought all the goods etc - whaddya think is reasonable???

Going against the grain here, but £100- £25 per hour seems fair for the labour

UtterlyDesperate · 08/12/2018 17:19

(Based on the fact that non-specific "handymen" in my city charge £45-65 per hour or part thereof)

I would have no qualms paying a friend £100 for four hours work. Provided they have done a decent job Smile

Thank you all. I settled for £80

That's £20 an hour and he's done a good job!

How lovely to have such a good and handy friend. It's wonderful that you show thin you value his time.
