What to do with open but unused nappies?

My LO has already outgrown the newborn size 1 nappies and some of the NB clothes as well. When we were in hospital there were parents with unexpected longer stays and mums with safeguarding issues who both were in need of clothes, nappies etc. Would the labour ward/antenatal ward take such donations or is there somewhere else I can give them to? All clothes are clean and washed and unstained. Nappies have been opened from package but not used (obvs!)

Food bank?

If you are stuck then lots of church baby groups have such nappies in the toilets etc for people to use in an emergency? Or there’s the women’s aid or even food bank that would probably know where they could go!

Some food banks may accept them, you could contact your local one.

Alternatively, Freecycle them

I gave all tiny baby, newborn and 0-3 clothes and nappies to SCBU. They were happy to have them (we needed to use their supply with DS2).

Thanks for the suggestions, will ring food banks and SCBU.

If not, ask your health visitor/baby clinic.

Thanks!

Your local Home Start might take them, to distribute to local families.
