What can we do?

The sofa is 10 years old not in rear condition.
Worried that we won't be able to save It!!!

I think you will be able to save it.

My cat weed in my handbag. My leather purse was very wet and it smelled. I took out the things I needed and grabbed another purse to use and never got round to doing more than wiping the purse. (I washed the bag which is fine). Anyway- I have now noticed that my purse is fine. It hasn’t got any smell or stain!

So try wiping wth gentle stuff like baby wipes and then just leave it to magic away.

It depends on where it has gone. If it's on the top of a cushion just wipe away and should be fine. If it has gone down between cushions and into the sofa it can be a nightmare as the smell is tricky to get rid of. You can use a urine away solution (pets at home sell it) but it does damage leather so would only work if the bits inside your sofa are fabric rather than leather.

Has the cat got a urine infection? mine will wee somewhere obvious if he's sore.

He doesn't actually show any other symptoms

Thankyou

It was our 20 year old cat he got shut in the room accidentally

If its gone down the back you could get something thin like a long ruler and wrap disinfectant wipes over over and shove it up and down to get the worst. When it's dry sprinkle down some bicarb which will absorb the smell. Leave it on as long as you can before hoovering off.

Poor cat was probably mortified, bless him. 20 is a grand age. Ours is half that age, I hope he lives as long.

Simple Solution or another urine/enzyme spray. You need to remove the urine or it will haunt you when the recliner gets warm. SS is also good for other organic spills or accidents.

I used it to remove a very doggy smell from a used car once, and many cat pee and vomit episodes. Also useful for children.

Ahh, just thought, it may not be good for leather, bicarbonate of soda, sprinkled on liberally, left for a long time and then swept up or vac'd. Or white vinegar in water (test a bit first).
