New to asthma - is this the start of an attack?

Easier for me to write than speak.

Chest tight all day, blue & brown inhalers making no difference.

Am now wheezing when I exhale and chest feels at its tightest today so far.

Should I stay on the Ventolin for now? Is there anything else I can try?! Will go to A&E if I absolutely have to as a last resort. How long do I leave it before I say enough is enough? Breathing is ok, chest isn’t comfy.

Glad your feeling better. Never worry about calling 999.

Talk to the nurse about using a stronger preventer inhaler, something like sere tide.

Ok...so... had another attack last night and my chest was incredibly painful today, like a belt was being tightened around it.

Have been given steroids...Predisalone (sp!) for 5 days. I have autoimmune issues too, they don’t want it turning into a chest infection & I got brownie points for already having the flu jab Smile

Thankyou all x

Sorry that happened again but glad you got swift treatment!

I take pred for my asthma and it is amazing - hope it works the same for you.

Did they tell you about the 10 puffs trick? It's advised if you have an attack coming on you can take 10 puffs in a row and it will have an effect similar to a nebuliser. I've been asthmatic my whole life and was only told this 2 years ago!
