Could nearby construction work cause damage to my house?

There's major construction work going on next to our home. They're building houses and are doing the ground work now. The house has been vibrating and shaking at times. I've only felt it upstairs but today I can feel it downstairs too. Is it likely to cause any structural damage? I'm not especially worried but now I'm curious.

Do you not have a Party Wall Surveyor dealing with this? If it's happening immediately adjacent to your property then a PWS should have been appointed - not by you - but by the builders/developers - and you should have been informed of this prior to the work being carried out.

And, yes, it could cause structural damage to your home.

No. No one has been appointed. I think I'll have to call the company then. There's our small garden between us and the building work, and that's about it. They're currently at the far end of the (not particularly large) field but I worry about them starting the groundwork right next to our fence. I'm concerned about that being damaged let alone my house. The only thing that they've notified us of is the ever changing plans for the field and the council sent those out.

Thank you so much for your he,l.

Definitely contact the company/contractors. I don't know what the 'footage' is between an existing house and land behind it as far as PW is concerned. TBH, you might need to instruct your own Chartered Surveyor to investigate the potential problem. Sorry, I'm no expert though.

There's part of the field's former walk next to/partly in our garden too which we want them to remove because it's damaged and unsightly so I should really give them a call anyway.
