Saw this on Facebook, reckon it is a wind up, but what do you require in a baby sitter.

Baby sitter requirements a long list??

I usually approach my DN’s nursery first. Plenty of the girls there are looking to earn a bit more and they have the benefit of being trustworthy. Alternatively I usually approach someone I know who has a f/t nanny and offer to split the cost of a day.

Trump fan and tax evasion. Says it all really.

1 through 6 are reasonable. The rest is a wind up. It's just someone trolling.

I was a baby sitter at 16 to 21 years, I was never asked for qualifications. I was also in a babysitting circle with a group of other mums, we never had to offer up our qualifications. I did have to phone a parent once at 2.30 am, because I had work the next day and thought enough is enough. The husband was really ticked off at me.

I wouldn't babysit with two pitbulls in the house if the pay was a million dollars an hour. The rest is therefore lost on me.

Well as it seems to be American "babysitter" isn't the same as it is in uk.

Basically my understanding is that's akin to a nanny or au pair, in which case as its caring for 3 young children most of those requirements make sense to me - an ex nanny & childminder with over 30 years experience of looking after other people's children also including U.K. Babysitting.

So we are looking at a live out nanny really. I have no idea what the wages should be but £7.84 an hour does seem very low.

I think childcare is very poorly paid in America - hence often filled by youngsters/illegal immigrants.

Why Americans don't want to pay a decent wage to the people caring for their children is beyond me.
