He has asked him several times to wash clothes better
I've washed his jackets etc if he ever forgets them here
He smells disgusting
I have to air the house
I'm hiding upstairs im pregnant and can't cope

Do I also need to tell him? How do I do this ?
He is in my home at least twice per day due to the Nature of their work

It is stress sweat
It's vile

I have before had to leave the house because of the smell

I really feel repulsed

Your husband needs to sit him down and tell him that his odour is offensive, and discuss how he can help things improve.

Why does he have to come in to your home?

If it is a genuine problem, and not pure laziness, maybe your DH could suggest that he visits the GP?

My husband has told him about 5 times

He has said use a biological detergent
Use a laundry cleanser
Shave armpits
Wear an anti persperant

It's a stress thing because on the weekend he doesn't smell so bad. This is honestly so strong and horrendous and he is clearly not following the suggestions my husband made as when I wash his clothes the smell is gone it's not rocket science

The house he lives in has no tumble dryer and they don't have good heating so their clothes do not dry quickly when they wash them (that's what he and his partner said but she doesn't smell)
And then because they take days to dry he doesn't wash them (why doesn't he buy more)

So it's because he isn't taking the advice

My husband said he can't do it again as he gets upset when he talks to him but I seriously worry about the impact on our business (which we own)

He comes in the house as my husband works in other peoples homes and offices etc and then he comes home for food or they meet at ours in the morning then my husband drives (his van is newer and better and bigger)
Then he comes in when he goes home
He's such a nice man but he is really honestly disgusting

Should I say something to his partner

Sounds like he might suffer from hyperhidrosis, Driclor is a treatment that is applied overnight and washed off in the morning and usual antiperspirant applied. It was life changing for me.

TheEmmaDilemma · 04/12/2018 16:21

If he's visiting customers for your business smelling you need to address it more quickly and better.

Turns out my husband has spoken to him again today

If he comes over smelling I am going to tell him myself

Maybe put your foot down and tell your husband that you don't want BO man in the house again

SPARKLYSTARSHINESBRIGHT · 05/12/2018 22:12

Perspirex Strong Antiperspirant Roll On is very good, apply every other night, 8.50 pounds in Boots but 6 pounds on line, maybe you could buy one for him.

MontyPants · 05/12/2018 22:26

Perspirex is really good. I suppose it’s really difficult to know how to get him some without offending him. And it still won’t solve the issue of the unwashed clothes. Can they get a washer-dryer so they can wash and dry everything in one go overnight? Or a heated airer?

PositivelyPERF · 05/12/2018 22:30

Gel him he should put some, wait for it, zoflora in the washing machine. It’s possible that the clothes are being washed, but if he’s being really sweaty, the smell is embedded in them.

MontyPants · 05/12/2018 22:39

@PositivelyPERF Ooh yes I’d forgotten about zoflora! Mumsnet essential item there. It’s also brilliant for getting the dog smell out of pet bedding

suddenlypanicked · 07/12/2018 11:08

I've started being a bit hostile when he comes over
He still smells but not as bad as the other day
If he comes over again I'll literally open all the doors when he is here and spray the room and walk off
