Eh? Of course it isn’t a “must”. What a strange question.

megletthesecond · 03/12/2018 10:52

Of course not.
but PPW is actually rather fun for adults too.

MrsJayy · 03/12/2018 10:55

No of course not! I never took my children to one in their entire childhoods. I and one of my DDs are autistic, we’d have both hated it and had a meltdown between us!
If you don’t like them, OP, there is no compulsion to go. There are loads of other fun activities for children that you can visit instead. Go along with your own kids’ particular interests, whether that’s sports, nature, wildlife, science, castles, beaches, whatever.

ChodeofChodeHall · 03/12/2018 10:57

Yes, it's compulsory, and if you are on benefits, you get free tickets. Don't try and get out of it, OP, or you'll face a custodial sentence!

SoyDora · 03/12/2018 10:59

What do you mean a ‘must’? By whose standards?
Mine are 5 and 3 and have never been to Peppa Pig world, Thomasland, Legoland etc. We might go one day, who knows. No one is telling us we have to though and they don’t appear to be disadvantaged in any way, so I don’t think it’s a ‘must’.

lovetherisingsun · 03/12/2018 10:59

Well, food is a "must". Air is a "must. Peppa Pig World is fun, but not a "must".

HRTpatch · 03/12/2018 10:59

Never did it. I personally hate places like that. Mine are early 20s now and seem unscarred.
When they were 13 they got Merlin passes so they could go with friends

Conventicle · 03/12/2018 11:00

OP, what a daft question. No one actually thinks these ghastly activities are compulsory or your child will grow up miserable and unfulfilled.

Unless you really like queueing, in which case, knock yourself out.

Onlymeyousee · 03/12/2018 11:20

I suppose I’ve worded It wrong lol. I shouldn’t have put a ‘must’

SoyDora · 03/12/2018 11:24

Well... what are you asking? Are you asking whether your children will be disadvantaged if they don’t go? If they’ll get bullied?

HairyToity · 03/12/2018 11:32

Not done any. We have talked about a holiday to Windsor, day out at legoland, and train into London for the day. I don't think it's a must, in that I wouldn't make a special journey, but would make effort if in area.

HoundOfTheBasketballs · 03/12/2018 11:37

It's absolutely fine not to go to places like this. And you shouldn't feel guilty if you can't afford it or don't want to go.
We took DS to Thomas Land when he was about 3 and obsessed with Thomas. He had a lovely day, but he doesn't remember it now. I expect the same could be said for most of the little ones who go to Peppa Pig world.

Onlymeyousee · 03/12/2018 11:54

Thanks for your replies. Yes, I meant disadvantaged I suppose really. But obviously not in the sense that it would ruin their childhood.
