Driving tips

I've recently started driving and find parallel parking reeeaaallly hard. It's remembering what to do and which way to turn the wheel which baffles me. Today I wrote down what to do step by step on a bit of paper, went somewhere quiet and practiced. It was reasonably successful. Does anyone else have any good tips?

Watching with interest as I'm new to driving and shit at parking at the minute but I know I'll figure it out. I just get too stressed when people can see my trying to park so am avoiding any busy places at the minute.

Parallel parking is getting better for me. Just remember you are turning your wheel in the direction you want the car to go and keeping the car as slow as possible (same with all parking).

I'm the same, quite new to driving and hate parking. I watched videos on YouTube and everything to try and get my head round it, but everyone else seems to instinctively know what to do (and not go to pieces). I know I was taught in my lessons but the car was different and I was talked through it. I'm currently avoiding parallel parking for the most part, which is a bit silly!

I've driven for nearly 40 years and have never parallel parked since my test.

I do need to parallel park outside my house!

I try to look up anything I'm not sure about. I need to crack this!

Placemarking
Another one learning to drive
I found watching YouTube videos before my lesson helpful
Also, sounds quite embarrassing but making sure I have enough time to ‘get ready’ before a lesson. i.e reflect on previous lessons
Whenever I’ve been in a huge rush with a busy day before my lesson I don’t get time to think about what I’ve previously learnt and will forget some of the basics whilst driving
