I don't really like buying for the sake of it but felt I should join in so as not to be a miserable bastard.

However, I don't know what to buy. Budget is £5-10. What are you getting for yours?

I've had awful presents (tesco smart price chocolate!), generic ones candles and hand cream, and awesome ones - bottle of vodka!!

This year I've bought a personalised mug, for a person with an unusual name - who also doesn't like people stealing her mug at work, and I'm also going to put some chocolates in it!

Thanos Bucket of Doom is a good game along similar lines

I don't know who I have yet, Homesense have some good stocking filler type gifts for under a tenner

I work with a group of fab women who have forced me into a £10 secret Santa this year which I hate.

What do you think to this Awesome People Club bag?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/12/2018 15:19

I would hate a novelty gift, or a mug or a Yankee candle.

I usually buy edible stuff from Oxfam - Fair Trade chocolate etc, or a couple of bars of 'good' chocolate such as Prestat.

I usually receive something I don't like such as a cheap book, bracelet or smellies, or a big box of cheap chocolate. The best thing I ever got was a really nice bookmark.

I'd honestly rather have a tiny box/bar of good chocolate or a little bottle of Prosecco than most other stuff.

The VIPoo Christmas gift add is on at this very moment.

RightOcciputAnterior · 02/12/2018 15:31

Our budget is £5 so I've made handmade chocolate truffles for mine. They look a bit lopsided but I've sampled them and they're delicious!

Glitteryfrog · 02/12/2018 15:32

Mine is getting an initial tote bag and some chocolates.
I'd be happy if I received it.

GrandmaSharksDentures · 02/12/2018 15:34

Costa voucher - sorted

Belindabauer · 02/12/2018 15:42

Last year I bought a Ladybird book about drinking and a small bottle of gin after hearing my person say it was their favourite drink.
This year my secret Santa has asked for smellies.

shartsi · 02/12/2018 15:45

Costa coffee gift card

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/12/2018 16:07

I like the idea of an initial tote and a coffee shop voucher.

ThanosSavedMe · 02/12/2018 16:26

Thanks Vittys

Last year I got my boss, he got a small remote control car and cheap batteries to make it go came to 9.57 I think as it was in a sale he loved it video of him Christmas day racing it around

This year I don't know who I've got yet but I have a few ideas for individuals one is bbq marinades, another fingerless gloves and my generic go to this year is sea monkeys as I found some for £10

Colour change cups with a fun photo are another back up

Socks chocolate alcohol all reek of no effort to me it doesn't take much in the months before Christmas to talk to colleagues and find out what they are interested in

metronome1 · 02/12/2018 16:53

Mine is a crafty lady with kids so I got a paint your own mug set and a balloon animal making kit. It's supposed to be quirky/jokey as we have a £5 budget. Thought it would be a funny thing for her to do with the kids. I'm the new girl at work so I'm a bit nervous about it

Gazelda · 02/12/2018 17:05

I'm getting this for my boss. £6 from John Lewis

My fav SS gift I received was a very pretty baubles, always takes centre place on our tree.

I'm at a different company this year and they do a novelty and wearable SS lucky dip. Apparently we aren't meant to get repeat presents as previous years, they acyually gave me a run down of what's already been done! Feels like a lot of pressure for a £5 present!

TwoOpenOneClosed · 02/12/2018 17:24

I've got mine this www.tiptree.com/index.php/english-raspberry-jam-jar-cocktail.html I hope it's ok I've never really done secret Santa before so hope it's not a naff gift.
