Period underwear options 🤔

Has anyone got feedback on different brands of period underwear? I held off buying a Thinx pair earlier in the year and now suddenly there are four or five different brands out there. Confused TIA.

What is period underwear? I just wear my normal underwear and a tampon.

LoniceraJaponica · 01/12/2018 10:32

I was the same as SoyDora

Anyone found any for obese people

I’m interested in this, too. They are washable absorbent pants. I’m not sure I’d be comfortable at the heaviest days but certainly for the start and end they look good.

I wear the Diary Doll ones with my usual tampon which are basically leak proof underwear. Not like Thinx ones that I believe you don't need anything else with?

They have saved me a few times. Would have loved them as a teen at school.

Yes, they are normal, thin underwear that is washable, so you don't need a tampon or pads or a mooncup. Takes a standard tampon's worth, I believe, and also works well for incontinence from what I understand. Lots of different styles too. Since Thinx seems the most well-known it seemed the obvious choice, but wondered if the more recent proliferation of brands means the technology is better in newer ones?

I bought the Cheeky Wipes set of three recently and have just tried them out. They're much cheaper than other brands like ModiBodi, but less choice in design.

Very important: they come up very large so order a size less than normal. If you're a 12 order the 10-12 not 12-14, for example.

I'm using mine in conjunction with a mooncup for the heavy days. I find the main problem if you use them as a sole sanpro method is that you'd have to change your underwear too much, which could be awkward at work in winter, for example. As a back-up option I find changing twice a day is sufficient - mornings and evenings. I wash them out by hand straight away and hang up to dry, so the three-pack is actually enough for a whole period.

Thanks, I'll check out cheeky wipes too then.

Do these actually work? I'm also looking for swimwear because my daughter does a lot of surfing and paddle boarding. There's an American brand that is called Ruby Love that ships internationally but all of them are pretty expensive so would appreciate any advice. The modibody swim stuff seems to only come in black but I'm not clear if the US version is the same sort of thing because the website says it can hold a pad in place while they swim?
