Sunday lunch!

Having dilemma as to what to serve for Sunday lunch as we have friends coming over.
We've recently moved and the oven is a bit iffy so reluctant to do a roast plus tbh don't have the time Sunday morning to do a ton of prep.

What can I cook that is still "Sunday special" but I don't have stress over.
Something suitable for adults and kids.

Lasagne?

Cleanermaidcook · 30/11/2018 18:24

Casserole with nice bread?

SneakyGremlins · 30/11/2018 18:25

I'd go all out and do a curry or something that everyone can make their own bowls from - rice, curry, sides..

Coq au vin on the job.
Or Moroccan chicken with preserved lemons on tne hob, with cous cous
Or Jamie Oliver’s Chcken Cacciatore.
Or a nice risotto, maybe with a fillet of pan fried fish.

How about lamb shanks in the slow cooker the day before? And then a nice range of veg to go with them?

Does it need to be hot? A salad buffet with quiches (warm if the oven will do that), nice bread, ham and cheeses etc can be quite seasonal.
