Capital FM Jingle Bell/Summertime Ball or similar pop concert for teen.

DS has been pestering to go to these one of these concerts for a few years and I've been putting off the expense by saying not until you're 13 - and silly me because of course that time has now come and he's not bloody forgotten and he's asked for concert tickets (& not much else!) for Christmas. For the Capital concerts, I'm struggling to find out how much tickets costs when they first went on sale & wondering how likely am I to actually get them if I'm online/the phone as soon as they release them?
Can anyone suggest a similar multi-act pop chart music concert preferably London?

And finally, I'd like to get tickets for him and a friend but guessing DH or I will have to go in too but this may make it out of budget so I wondered if there's a way we can go to the stadium and wait outside or would that be totally irresponsible leaving two 13 year olds at a concert unaccompanied?

Jingle bell ball is now sold out (sold out within the day they went on sale if I recall) so “the only way in is to win” as they say in capital! Summer ball usually goes on sale around late April/ early May I think.

According the the current Jingle Bell Ball FAQs, children under 15 need to be accompanied by an adult over 18, meaning you’d need to attend with them. www.capitalfm.com/events/jingle-bell-ball/faq/. This is apparently an O2 rule, so anything held there will be the same. Pretty sure the Hyde Park summer sessions were similar.

Price wise you’d usually be looking at upwards of £75-100 per person depending on where you sit/stand etc. Most of these events are 7 hours plus so it’s pretty good value when you consider a standard concert can be that too.

Thanks that's really helpful. We saw Bruno Mars at BST concert last year and I'd wait until dc we're older before spending that sort of money taking them as they wouldn't have been able to see a thing (I'm 5ft7 and struggled).
I might look at ticket vouchers or similar with a view to trying to get summertime ball tickets but I need to try and find out how/where you can buy them first as I know capital do the promotion but imagine it's through ticketmaster or similar.

Have just had a quick google on summer time ball / jingle bell ball and it appears tickets actually start at about £50 - www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/music/6195030/capital-summertime-ball-tickets-golden-circle/amp/

In terms of buying them, for both events they appear to be sold via capitals official site, so ticketmaster vouchers etc wouldn’t work. That said, if music is something that he’s interested in then vouchers could always be used to help towards other events.

Sorry to jump on your thread but I am taking three children to the Jingle Bell Ball next weekend and wondered if anyone had any tips?

Not done anything like this before or been to the O2 for that matter so feeling a little....apprehensive!

Thanks in advance!

@Elizaallen I've taken dc to 02 before honestly don't panic it's such a breeze all so well signposted. The only thing I would prepare for is if you are in section 4 ie outer ring, the stage is a veeeeery long way away Wink.

Somewhere where the acts don't mime, I would suggest. O2 is easy but you can be a long way from the stage.
