What to take to inlaws

We have been invited to PIL for a few days over Xmas.
I asked if there is anything we can bring over and basically they said whatever we like to eat/drink. I don't want to turn up for a weekish without anything but they will probably have everything already.
What would you take?

I think it depends on how generously they normally cater. One of my friends gets hardly any food at her PILs!!

I’d take at least a bottle of wine for each night of your stay, as well as some nice food bits (biscuits/cheese/chocolates) from M&S

I think they are pretty fair caterers from what I remember. Wine and cheese/biscuits are a good idea.
We are driving for a few hours to get there, could I order it in a food delivery for them do you think?

Alcohol, soft drinks (if they don’t normally have them),chocolates, crisps, cheese and biscuits, shortbread....,any treats you know they like.

Why don’t you get a hamper from Waitrose or M&S that will cover all the little nibbly bits.

Also take some extra wine/beer and stuff and have some food stashed in the car!

If you bake could you bake them some nice goodies. Also maybe some Christmas flowers. They are both the kind of thing l would like.

I woudlnt order a delivery as they then need to unpack and store stuff -
I would take Fizz, and nice wine , chocolates, if they are cheese heads some nice cheese- luxury stuff really and fresh flowers always good at this time of year.... things that are easy....

Good point about delivery. All good ideas. I think I'll go with some wine, fizz, biscuits & choc maybe, some posh coffee.
Thanks

I'm remembering a previous thread on here in which a family weren't fed nearly enough food by their in-laws. I would factor this in, just in case.
