Actors who you see in everything?

I don't even watch that much television(too busy reading fanfic and watching nonsense on YouTube)) but I feel as though I'm being haunted by Andrew Scott and Jim Broadbent. They're in so many shows and films that I've been watching, especially Mr Broadbent.

Are there any actors that you see everywhere?

OP posts:

Steve buscemi

gaggiagirl · 29/11/2018 21:59

Chiwetel Ejiofor is in everything I can't think of a single film he's not in. Every film I watch... There he is! He's a jolly good actor though.

Cattenberg · 29/11/2018 22:08

Daniel Mays. Excellent actor.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 29/11/2018 22:15

Chiwetel should be in everything, his voice is amazing. That fight scene with Nathan Fillion in Serenity is the sexiest fight ever (I know that it's probably wrong to find that erotic, but I don't care).

Cattenberg · 29/11/2018 22:17

Also, Gemma Jones is in everything from children's TV to thrillers, comedies and costume dramas.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/11/2018 22:18

Martin Fucking Fwhat'shisname - and he's a terrible actor too. The one in The Hobbit.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 29/11/2018 22:28

Actually Martin Freeman provides a very useful service. Everything he's ever been in has been total crap, so if I see him in a trailer I simply don't watch it. It saves me loads of wasted time. Grin

TroysMammy · 29/11/2018 22:29

Adrian Scarborough.

southeastdweller · 29/11/2018 22:44

Jason Watkins and Adeel Akhtar.

Bandol · 29/11/2018 22:52

Jim from Neighbours (Alan Dale)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/11/2018 22:54

BlackAmericano - Fair point, well made.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 29/11/2018 22:57

Yes to Nicola Walker. And always always playing the part exactly the same. Used to not mind her but getting boring now.

percheron67 · 29/11/2018 22:57

Suranne Jones. I think she is highly overrated and wish she wouldn't pull her mouth in such gyrations. She pulls the same faces whether she is playing a doctor, lawyer or in a period piece.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 29/11/2018 22:58

Stephen Mackintosh
Ace Bhatti
Tom Wilkinson

gaggiagirl · 29/11/2018 23:07

I need to watch serenity now then! I'll bet my life though, that when I lay eyes on Chiwetel I'll loudly exclaim 'he's in friggin everything'

gaggiagirl · 29/11/2018 23:08

Ace Bhatti was in bohemian rhapsody..
As well as everything else.

DukeOfEarlGrey · 30/11/2018 04:00

Alex Macqueen must set the record for being the most prolific without actually managing to be famous. Fantastic actor though - love him in The Thick Of It!

He's in everything! ^

Girlwhowearsglasses · 30/11/2018 08:02

Toby Jones
I think he’s top top actor though. Lance in Detectorists to Alfred Hitchcock by way of lots of meaty villains. I want him to have a go at Bond Villain

Cuzcothellama · 30/11/2018 09:23

YY to Toby Jones.

Nicola Stephenson pops up everywhere, as does Katherine Parkinson.

Tangofandango · 30/11/2018 09:59

Not an actor but a few years ago Will.I.am was everywhere you looked. At one stage he was popping up in so many things I was scared to use my toaster!

Lucisky · 30/11/2018 10:50

Steve Pemberton.
Daniel Mays
Olivia Coleman (perhaps not so much now). Whenever we watch a drama, it's usually a chorus of "oh look it's him/her again!" I do wonder if struggling actors get fed up that the best parts seem to go to a small range of actors. Must be very difficult to break through.

Graphista · 30/11/2018 12:07

Jason Watkins - I'm not really one to watch most of the things he's been in and didn't recognise the name, wiki'd him and read he sadly lost a child to sepsis. Poor man.

Alan Dale - yes seems to have exploded on American tv since leaving neighbours, obviously ugly Betty & the oc but also er, NCIS, girl with the dragon tattoo, torchwood, svu, person of interest - just everywhere! Luckily I like him as an actor.

It must be tricky for them trying to avoid overexposure while also keeping working (they have bills to pay like the rest of us. I think people would be shocked that unless proper famous & serious longevity they're not that well paid. I used to babysit for an actress and her husband - he had a "normal" job - as a teen. She wasn't and isn't famous but was regularly in work though mostly in musical theatre but not starring roles. Husbands steady job was definitely necessary)

Plus when it's filmed work they have no control over when it's released so can have phases when they're not on screen for ages and then 3-4 things all on telly at once! So to viewers it can seem they're in loads.

I’ve got heart eyes for @BlackAmericanoNoSugar and @RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie You both speak mucho sense.

thenorthernluce · 30/11/2018 14:04
