If I work 226.8 hours a year (annualised) and holiday leave runs 01/10/18-30/09/19.... And I resign on 17/12/18... how many hols would I have accrued this year/ be able to take as notice?

If you can solve I'm very grateful- and you're a genius!

You’re going to have to find out what your company classes as full time. Holiday entitlement is worked out on a pro rata basis for anything less than the companies full time hours. Full time is usually a minimum of 37.5 hpw at the very least.

Telling a new employer end Jan/early Feb sounds safe! I've had employers petty enough to make adjustments to final payslips if they'd discover that people have started working before their contractual end date. Well. Petty/perfectly entitled. Anyway, just a caution.

Good luck!

Roughly, if you left on the 1st jan you would be entitled to a quarter of your usual holidays for the year because you’ve only worked 3 months out of 12.

In our company full time is 35 hours per week - it can be anywhere between 35-45 hours.

It would be somewhere between 8-9 days so if and its a big IF you worked all over Christmas you could start in the new year. But that would mean giving up your Christmas

Littlemissdemeanour · 29/11/2018 14:27

Well the thing is I've 11.5 leave days from last year that have been carried over, so will be taking these all for Christmas leave (24,27,28,31 and so on). So hopefully won't have to use any of this years entitlement (and hopefully get the job!!!) and get out of there.
