Best Christmas presents you've ever given...

I'm having a shitty day in a shitty week and the weather is crap and I want to resign from being a grown up.

I've realised the only things cheering me up today are two Xmas presents that I've got hidden away from my partner and I can't wait to give him, because I think they're awesome, and I'd normally share that small nugget of joy with him, but I can't because they are surprises! So, I want to share with the internet instead, if slightly disguised.

One is a prize given away every week on a quiz show from the 80s, that we both find endlessly entertaining and make frequent reference to. It's not a replica, it's the actual prize and I spent much too much money on it, but I don't care because it will make him laugh so much.

The other is a production drawing of a main baddie from one of our favourite cartoons, with certificate of authenticity and the WB logo embossed on it. Going to get it properly framed and it's just awesome.

So come on, cheer me up and tell me what you have squirreled away this year to give someone you love, and that is making you feel like you've hit the present jackpot this year.

@BestAnsweringMachineMessage, it really was and I don't think I could ever top it.

A positive pregnancy test following a gruelling IVF year was my best Xmas present ever, although I didn't get my much wanted glass of champagne as a result.
I've had ten fantastic years of buying presents for DC's since but nothing topped the sheer joy of that moment.

Thankfully I get on with my MIL in a non mumsnet way as we were in her tiny flat so she found out 2 seconds after DH!

@IHeartKingThistle could you make a scroll like it is written from their favourite character inviting them to CC? Primark has lots of Harry potter bits so you could get something them there with a note. Or you could get some chocolate frogs and put a note in where the character card would be.

Oh my goodness I love all these ideas! I do actually have a Keep the Secrets badge so could definitely do something with that. Thank you!
