Crochet hook and easyjet

Can I take a crochet hook in cabin baggage in easyjet or am I likely to be thrown in the brig?

I’ve flown with hooks all over the world although not specifically easyJet. I think you will be ok and if not you can always replace it for like £2 when you get home. Or if you’re checking baggage throw an extra hook in there.

I remember seeing somewhere that you can get mini hooks on a keyring that generally pass muster. Can't remember where, though.

Does such a thing as a plastic crochet hook exist? I would have thought that was OK. I've taken fairly substantial metal pens on flights that could do a lot of damage, so a plastic crochet hook seems a lot lower risk than that.

Anyway, it's not airline specific - the people who decide what does and doesn't go on board are those who run the passenger search area, which applies to all airlines using the airport.

I've taken a crochet hook loads - usually take it out and put it separately in the tray.

The one thing that gets my bag pulled every time is a fountain pen in a pencil case.

You can get plastic hooks, I just prefer aluminium.

I've tried to get a plastic/bamboo hook but our local knitting shop ran out and I haven't time to get one on-line before we go. I'll chance it. Blowpoke it's actually more for using on the plane (to try and take my mind off how much I hate flying!).

I took a hook and knitting needles through Manchester airport with no problems. The knitting needles were interchangeable ones so only short. I put them in a pencil case with my pattern and other bits and bobs.

Ah, was going to suggest bamboo or plastic, but see you have no time to buy them.
Just risk it; worst they can do is confiscate it.
