I've recently decorated 15 year old ds bedroom.
Double bed, sofa bed etc looks bloody amazing!
He asked if he could have a mini fridge.

Would it be wierd to buy him one for Christmas? I've seen a little black one on amazon, holds about 8 cans of drink/bottles of water.

He has £200, aftershave, designer top, smelly stuff, dressing gown so far.

Is the fridge idea odd? Hmm

He had renal probs when hr was little so really have to push him to drink loads. This could be a game changer Grin

We have done it before but tbh mini fridges are crap and I think it only lasted a few weeks before it was unplugged and stuck in the corner of the room

I bought my teenager a fridge as a jokey present from a charity shop a while ago. He loves it. I sometimes put things in it for a surprise treat.....

Sounds perfect. My dad bought me one and I loved it. Sad when it broke but it lasted years.

No. Fridges are environmentally pretty crap and it would be best if people could cut down on their number and size.

A great idea! Wish I'd thought of such things when mine was a teenager at home. He'll appreciate a fridge and one of the posters above said they bought a London themed one. I did buy London themed duvet set but never thought of a fridge.

The mini ones are also really loud! My DS got one last year from my idiot MIL. He put it in his room and after one night couldn't stand the loud "hummm" and put it in the snug that he and his siblings share.
They are also not that energy efficient.

We got DS one a few years ago but the novelty wore off very quickly and it was unplugged and unused for a long time. I think he gave it away in the summer.

I concur, do not get him a cheap mini fridge. They are a pain and very noisey and will be abandoned soon. A second hand beer fridge is quiet, can be used for food too and taken to university with him if he goes in a few years. If not stick It in the garage, cellar, cupboard under the stairs and use it as an overflow for your fridge or for beer/wine.

We have had one years, it has been to two universities and is now in DDs boyfriends room in his house share!
