Has anyone bought brown paper/recyclable wrapping paper?

I've been browsing Etsy. Want something that can be recycled this Christmas.
Am struggling to find one that is biodegradable or fully recyclable.
It's easy to find ones made from recycled paper, which is great, but I want both.
Anyone found one please?

I've just bought about two miles of plain brown paper from Ikea, I think it was less than two quid.
I'm going to wrap my gifts and then tie with a lovely piece of reusable ribbon. The fact that I haven't actually ordered any ribbon yet, or the fact I tie knots like a 5 year old tying shoelaces has not deterred me one bit Wink

Most normal wrapping paper (not foil type or very glittery) is recyclable. Just remove excess tape and bows etc first.

Recyclable is better than biodegradable- although normal paper is the latter anyway!

You could buy rolls of coloured paper. I’ve done that before

If you can scrunch it into a ball, it is recyclable.....
Lady in my art class stamped a bunch of red stars onto parcel paper, looked lovely

This is recycled and recyclable.

Or use brown paper, or reuse gift bags. I've just got all my Christmas gift bags down from the loft for this year's presents. I'm confident they'll be replaced by gift bags we receive and so continued the great gift bag circle of life Grin

I use brown parcel paper then nice decorations like ribbons or string with toppers tied to them that can be used as as decoration.

I’ve seen some lovely fabric drawstring gift bags advertised by crafty people on Facebook. I haven’t clicked to see how much they are charging for them but like the idea of effortless wrapping!

Or I guess if, unlike me you had a sewing machine you could make your own.

VisitorsEntrance · 27/11/2018 22:47

I’ve been using brown paper and then tarting it up for years. Saves money too.

Thanks everyone.
I keep reading that most normal wrapping papers are not recyclable?
I think I'll go with brown kraft paper with nice decorations like other pp mentioned.
