Do you travel lots? What’s the most useful ‘thing’ you have that makes travelling easier?

Exactly that really. Trying to thing of a gift for someone who travels (retired, so leisure travel) at least twice a month. UK mini breaks, short budget trips to Europe etc.

I got one of the Mia Tui travel bags, it’s huge and has an extra pocket on the back that slips over the handle of your case, so it rests on top of the case and you don’t have to hold it. It’s brilliant for travelling.

They advertise a lot on Facebook and have good deals. Deliver really quickly as well.

Swear to god getting one of these has changed my life. No more fucking about with shitty plastic press seal bags, which split and spill your stuff everywhere.

Also noise cancelling headphones and a large capacity power pack so I basically never have to use a plug socket when away to charge my phones etc

cakeandteajustforme · 25/11/2018 20:27

Universal to universal socket adapter.

ShotsFired · 25/11/2018 20:29

4 way plug adapter thing.

Not exactly fancy, but a godsend.

OlennasWimple · 25/11/2018 20:29

Socket adapter thing used to be my #1 travel toy. Now I find that most places have USB ports for me to charge my phone through

The plastic toiletry bag looks very useful

opinionatedfreak · 25/11/2018 21:05

Packing cubes.

I took the piss out of my friend's husband for years for his devotion to them. He bought me some and now I'm evangelical about them.

I've got eagle creek ones and find I usually travel with a double sided medium one and two small ones.

If I go away overnight I can fit all my stuff into one and chuck it in my work bag.

LittleMy77 · 25/11/2018 21:17

Decent neck pillow, back up battery charge pack, decent rollup toilet bag that can be hung up by a hook somewhere in the bathroom, separate bags for chargers and plugs in different colors so you can find them, decent crackproof clear plastic bag for liquids / toiletries for going through security

Notatallobvious · 25/11/2018 21:21

I go away a lot and my favourite item is my toiletry bag 😂 it's one of those fold over ones from Debenhams with three compartments and a hook to hang it up. I keep it stocked with small refillable bottles of shampoo/tubes of toothpaste/moisturiser etc so I know it's ready to go at any time.

CMOTDibbler · 25/11/2018 21:25

A good power bank, my multi end charger cable (2 lightning, 2 micro USB) so I can charge my phone and my kindle at the same time, and MN converted me to packing cubes after being a denier for a long time.

IronManSucks · 25/11/2018 21:28

Valium and a book.

wizzywig · 25/11/2018 21:30

sushimonster those are genius! Im buying some. Better than using sandwich bags.

witchmountain · 25/11/2018 21:31

100 ml refillable bottles - the ones from muji are good although the lids don’t respond well to being dropped, or the ones from Lakeland.

Those zip up bags are great until you come across a jobsworth security person who insists the bag has to have an airtight seal, like a ziplock bag. It makes no sense and only some airports list it as a requirement, but the jobsworth security people seem to show up at random.
