I’m being a mard arse

We’re meant to be going out tonight
But I’m having a disgustingly heavy period, I’m freezing cold (does everyone get cold when they’re on?) and haven’t been able to get warm all day, the baby has a cold, I’m tired, DP is in work in the morning and I can’t even drink because of medication

I just want a hot bath, a pizza and to snuggle up in bed and watch Gogglebox

Someone shake me out of it and tell me I’ll have a really good time when I get there??

It’s not my friend, it’s a rather distant relatives 21st and it’s a big party in a hall not in a house, they absolutely will not be arsed if me and all my 100 kids aren’t there I promise

However I am going to go
I’ve hauled my arse out of the bath and we’ve decided to get there bang on the time it starts and dip out at 9:15 and get pizza on the way home
Win win!...kind of!

Feeling your pain. I'm also having heavy painful bleeding. stupidly I announced a few weeks back that date night is to be reinstated on payday (today). It's a meal and cinema so at least I can probably have a little nap in there 😜

Ah well at least your evening starts and ends early. I'm all ready and we're not meeting until 8.30.

My poor husband however has outdone me. Thinking he wanted to relive his youth he's bought tickets with a friend for a jungle DJ he used to love. The horror on his face earlier when he discovered that it doesn't even open till 11pm was comedy gold.

If it is just a relatives birthday, I don't see why you can't make an appearance for an hour and then go and grab a takeaway!

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 23/11/2018 19:11

I’d say go you have already committed, you can always leave early if needed but its crap for the birthday person if people don't show, they notice and feel crap it shows you don't give a shit about them, and even if you do that's how it makes them feel. i wonder how you would feel if it was your party?

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 23/11/2018 19:13

oops sorry should have rtft properly, good for you that sounds like a sensible plan
