The title basically. Bit chilly at night - is it worth buying?

Brushed cotton bedding. By far the warmest without being sweaty.

I think fleece bedding would be horrible. I'd only use cotton and if it's chilly put a throw on too.

Herja put another quilt (if you have one) under your fitted sheet. You’ll be amazed at how much warmer it is.

Top tip on the cold sheets feeling - run the hairdryer over them for about 30 seconds takes off the brrr.

I ise a winter quilt all year round, but I could definitely get another under sheet one! That sounds like a good idea.

I've looked at the teddy bear bedding, but it seems disagreeable. I think I saw some brushed cotton ones in Aldi earlier though, I might go and investigate later.

A bit of both. If you're talking about the sets they sell at Dunelm anyway. They do feel ever so snuggly and if you have heating problems they're great, but in an ordinary central heated home they're a bit much. I was also disappointed with how quickly they lose their fluffiness. With every wash they grow a little less soft and a little more worn. I have the pink and purple ones, and would just buy a new set every year and donate the old ones to a homeless shelter but they seem to have stopped selling the colours now, and I'm a strictly purple person. Still, I put my ones on Christmas Eve and swap back to cotton around early March, so they do get used!

Brushed cotton bedding is lovely - especially once washed and dried a few times. Soft and cosy.

ItWasntMeItWasIm · 23/11/2018 12:45

flannelette sheets, candy stripe and some flowery ones, I used to LOVE going there

We still have some flowery ones - our candy stripe are all gone as they were the favourites. They are getting so threadbare - I might do a sides to middle fix!

Fleece is usually made of polyester and releases thousands of tiny plastic fibres into the water every times it's washed. These fibres are then swallowed by fish and other sea life and, while they are too small to directly harm the fish in the way that a plastic bag would, nevertheless slowly poison it by acting as a sponge for heavy metals and other toxic substances that are in the marine ecosystem. Then we eat the fish and consume the toxins too...

'Disagreeable bedding ' ? Wtf ???

TheNoodlesIncident · 23/11/2018 13:55

I wouldn't for the reasons pp have outlined already. Brushed cotton/flannelette sheets, extra duvets, extra tog duvets, throws chucked on top of the duvet, hot water bottles or best of all, electric blankets are all far far better.

I don't like to imagine the teddy bear bedding when you've been sweating in it for a while and wake up roasting and dripping...

Urbanbeetler · 23/11/2018 14:21

I’ve decided to look for brushes flanelette type beers instead - thanks for lo the input.

Sheets. Not beers.

Ooh, I'm definitely adding another vote for brushed cotton bedding. It's warm and cosy without being sweaty. Bliss!

I bought my brushed cotton bedding from Sainsbury's (in fact, that's where most of my bedding comes from...) Smile
