When do I get to go to the toilet in peace?!

Seriously, when? 2 and a 6 year old and they are my constant audience...

I was always able to go to the loo with my two kids around. I locked or at least closed the door - I don't get why people don't?

I started saying “grownups like to go to the toilet by themselves” etc as soon as dd was able to get it (2 and a bit?) and now at 3.5 she gets it completely and doesn’t try to come in, although the quid pro quo is that she insists on going to the loo alone too so i have to hover invisibly close by if we’re out in case she needs help with something unexpectedly

Ha! Try having a bath in peace when you only have 1 toilet which is inside the bathroom.

I never had this problem either My DC weren't really interested in watching me do my business...

Always locked the door but I don't think there was ever an issue. Maybe it is a start as you mean to go on type of thing?

Well the kids finally leave me in peace...but then the youngest is 21

The cats however.....
Portia is nearly 19 and thinks I am going to disappear if I DARE go to the loo without her observing me. And she yowls if I try to sneak in...

‘I’m in the loo..’ and repeat.
They get bored eventually and stop asking.

When i read these posts I think I must have had a very compliant child.

Mine was quite happy to be left playing (somewhere safe) whilst I took a shower, or went to the toilet.
