Is this a fire hazard? My friend says it is so thought I'd better check? Been putting candles on here for years

Gosh. Common sense failure or what! Google some examples of house fires caused by candles.

This is why electronic candles were invented. Some are quite realistic. We have a mix of real and fake (in appropriate places).
