Foggy car windows

Now that the weather has turned cold, I am battling with foggy windows in the morning.

I can get my windscreen and 2 front windows clear realtively easily, altough it still requires some faffing. The rear windows fog up like nobody's business.

So... how do you clear and maintain none foggy windows?

Is it a Dacia by any chance?

Nah it's a kia Dont I previously had a Seat Arosa and assumed the fog and condensation were because it was old and the interior of the doors are not covered in upholstery.

If you have fabric/carpet mats - get shot of them.

They store moisture.

Get rubber mats. Problem solved.

Heh, never knew the AC did anything on hot.

I've got a chamois pad I'll use to wipe the condensation off if I'm in a hurry, and with the heater on the windows don't fog up again.

But actually, yeah, rear side windows don't tend to bother me. Probably because I nearly always reverse in, so I'm doing the reversing at the end of the journey when the windows have all cleared anyway.

I use the air con and also make sure the setting is drawing air from outside the car and not the recirculating setting.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you can see out of all car windows before you even pull off!!

A colleague of mine was killed last year as the woman in the car that hit him hadn't cleared her windows fully on a cold morning.

It really only takes 2 minutes - dry with a towel or kitchen roll or wait for the heater to kick in but I beg you please make sure you have 100% visibility before you pull out.

The driver was charged and successfully prosecuted for driving without due care and attention but it isn't worth risking anyone's life for the sake of 2 minutes.

Don't forget your mirrors too!

Buy some rainex for inside windows. They do a black bottle and a yellow bottle. One is for outside, one is for inside. Both worth getting. Hideously expensive and quite variable in price but can be around £5 a bottle in Asda or b and m bargains. I don't care so much any more but it was a godsend when I was leaving at 6am and didn't want to be at the car any earlier than I had to be.
