Where to buy beautiful fake diamond ring?

I want to buy myself a nice ring for Christmas, can anyone recommend a good website for reasonably priced, reasonably blingy, extremely beautiful and convincing diamond rings??

I would def consider second hand.... That's not code for stolen is it?? I had selected at least 3 I really love from Carat website as recommended... But am now looking at other recommendations! Drooling! I want everything. 🤤 That second hand diamond and sapphire is just gorgeous

QVC diamonique is amazing

CemetaryGates · 21/11/2018 17:36

@Zoomzoomzoomzoom0

God no! Not stolen, if you click on the picture I posted you'll see it was sold by a reputable auction house -and as is the case with the example I posted, original receipts can sometimes be provided.

If not the original receipt, they usually provide an official valuation for insurance purposes.

I am a huge fan of buying from auctions and estate sales, but you must remember to check the buyers premium (this is usually an extra 25%).

Google your local auction house and have a look through the catalogue for their next sale -you might pick up a bargain!

I second Heavenly Necklaces. If it's good enough for the Duchess of Cambridge...

Have you considered a white sapphire? Nowhere near the cost of diamonds but look the part.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 21/11/2018 17:47

I've bought from Tru Diamonds and also Brilliant. They are very nice rings and earrings. I bought them after we'd had a burglary and all my jewellery was stolen, I didn't want to get expensive stuff as I would just be worried about losing it. These don't look any different to any diamond rings that I've seen, but if people admire them I do tend to say that they're fake.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/11/2018 17:50

I have loads of Diamonique .
Not so keen on the gold plated (it is silver underneath usually) but gold is £££. They used to do 14k gold ( popular in the USA) but there's more 9ct now.

They do a rhodium plate or a platinum plate on silver which I think is a better colour.

I love the pave and the smaller stones , not so much the coloured stones but I have some gorgeous grey diamonique.

I wear my earrings all day/night/in the shower . Only had one lost stone and that was DD earring , got a full refund .

Zoomzoomzoomzoom0 · 21/11/2018 18:49

Cemetarygates I had a look through that auction website, some really beautiful pieces. What else do you need to be aware of when buying from auctions? Presumably then 25%added after buying, so on top of the selling price? Is it best to buy only items with certificate and official valuation?

Blackamericano trudiamonds has potential too! I have form for misplacing (usually uninsured) jewellery. So different reason, but don't want anything too expensive. I'd be afraid to wear it

@Zoomzoomzoomzoom0

Not all auction houses charge the same buyers premium. The premium percentage should always be clearly stated.

You pay a little more if going via internet rather than "in the room", generally an extra 3%.

Most jewellery pieces will have been appraised by a jeweller in order for them to determine estimate price and reserve. A lot of them will have details of colour, cut and clarity in the description.

Do you have anything specific in mind? If you let me know what you are looking for, I'll happily do a little digging for you.

CemetaryGates · 22/11/2018 15:04

@Zoomzoomzoomzoom0

I should also mention, that it's worth considering whether you want to look at auction houses close to you, or further afield.

There is much more choice if you look further afield, but you need to consider delivery costs / how far you are willing to travel to collect.

WhoTookTheCookie · 22/11/2018 15:21

I got a beautiful ring from Phantom Jewels.

It was roughly £40 but I couldn't fault the quality or style.

Worth every penny.

tissuesosoft · 22/11/2018 15:23

Something with a moissanite stone?

SamanthaJayne4 · 22/11/2018 22:53

I bought myself a Moissanite ring. It wasn't cheap and the stone has become a bit yellowish.

tissuesosoft · 22/11/2018 23:47

I suppose it depends on the cut and clarity of the stone. They aren’t the cheapest but cheaper than the equivalent weight in diamonds

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/11/2018 18:43

Moissanite is £££ .
Diamonds you'd need to be sure they're ethical.

What's your price point?

What size of carat are you looking for Zoom ?
Anything around 1.5 ct you could pass off as real if you want . I have a 4ct diamonique stone and it is very obviously costume (the setting is nice but I;m not the type who would wear a 4ct ring so maybe its how I see it)

The size of a CZ stone doesn;t influence the price much its the setting and the metal.
I have a pave set ring that looks pretty much like the Tiffany pave set , only I know it isn;t .
The work involved in setting the stones would be the main cost .

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 23/11/2018 18:51

I have a couple from QVC ..one from whosit's range, the one who does the fancy knickers?? I have had LOADS of compliments on it. That's a Diamonique trilogy setting, white metal (silver with something)

the other is an eternity 9ctgold plated silver which has had fewer comments but is much less eye popping.

SD1978 · 23/11/2018 19:04

@PetuliaBlavatsky that is a monstrosity and creepy. Why would anyone ever want that?!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/11/2018 19:36

Ms that'll be Michelle Mone Grin

Hers tend to be big stones, fairly classic. Much prefer MM to Tova but both ranges are too big for my taste

I have a thin pave Andrea MacLean ring that is 2mm wide and donkeys years old , still lovely .

claracluck78 · 23/11/2018 19:55

Whereabouts are you OP? And what is your budget?

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 23/11/2018 19:59

70is...that's her! Michelle Mone!

I have great big man hands, but long fingers so the large stones look okay.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/11/2018 20:25

Yah bums , I've pootled onto QVC for a browse and bought myself a stonking 1.2ct cocktails ring ........

Zoomzoomzoomzoom0 · 24/11/2018 09:53

Glad to help 70!😂
I really know very little about jewellery, never even heard of moissanite.... Is it Always lab grown and always ethical?
My budget would be less than £500. I'm not in the UK, and where I am I don't have big selection of bricks and mortar shops!
I thought online would be better bet, but it is hard to get an idea of what things really look like obviously. I do like the look of the moissanite, but as pp said it's pricey..... It is the direction I'm leaning though

tissuesosoft · 24/11/2018 10:17

Moissanite (not expensive!)- www.very.co.uk/e/q/moissanite.end?_requestid=69429

CemetaryGates · 24/11/2018 11:02
