Ok lovely people. Anyone here come from Brighton or know Brighton?

We are visiting this weekend with our ds, 9. What should we do? Any must dos (ds is keen on the i360 tower but I’m worried it’s meant to be cloudy and/or raining). Anything Christmassy apart from skating at the Royal Pavillion?

Also, if anyone knows of any hotels with availability under £150 for Saturday night I’d be grateful!

Hello I'm from Brighton (but live in London now).
It's going to be very cold this weekend so bring hats gloves etc! My kids love the Sealife Centre but they're younger than yours. The palace peir is good for an hour or so. The i360 is alright but to be honest you see basically a load of ocean from one side and the town from the other but you can see all of that from Google Earth anyway Grin... Pavilion skating would be lovely.

The Laines and The North Lanes are wonderful for cafes, I'd avoid the seafront and Churchill Square for lunchioning or dinners because it's a bit naff round there.

definitely the lanes - north laine especially - for some nice shopping - will be busy though! x

Be aware that many hotels and b&bs in Brighton will only take a minimum 2 nights booking.

Hyggehygge · 21/11/2018 11:40

Ah squashyhat. That’s probably why I’m struggling! Aghhh.
