I’m at a loose end in London tomorrow from half 12 until half 5 - I’m from up north so don’t get to London very often! Is there anything going on at the minute that anyone would recommend?

Shop - have a look in posh shops and visit markets.
Eat. Lots of nice places to eat, you'll be overwhelmed.
Take stock of everything you see for future reference.
Art galleries and museums are great!

As PP said the British LIbrary is right next to St Pancras and the "Treasures of the British Library" permanent free exhibition is great if you like books.

Lots of lovely suggestions up thread. Also the foundlingl museum, museum of childhood, imperial war etc. Is this thread real ? I am a grown women with access to the internet and presumably occasionally watch TV, but I can think how to entertain myself for 5 hours in the capital city ?

Is the ice skating rink open outside the natural history museum yet as that's always fun. Even as an adult!

Still - I would post if it was me because I've never actually been to London and would be likely to be frozen with all the choices Grin so would want recommendations for what's good and what isn't

Given I have never been I would visit all the shops we don't have locally and probably eat a weeks worth of food at places we also don't have 😂

The Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms exhibition at the British Library has had excellent reviews: www.bl.uk/events/anglo-saxon-kingdoms
