Some CF has been trimming my holy bush

My holly bush, laden with beautiful red berries hands over my fence and can be reached from the road. Someone has been helping themselves to it, I imagine for making Christmas wreaths!! Cheeky fuckaroonies!!!!

You get top prize for best typo ever. I would imagine your holly has been burgled by a bunch of CFs who intend to sell it as Christmas decorations. This is exactly what happened to me. Our beautiful ancient variegated holly tree that overhangs the road was burgled a couple of years ago. Ruined the tree and it's never recovered. Bastards.

Taytocrisps · 19/11/2018 17:04

Do you favour the Turin Shroud or the Sacred Heart style?

One2Three4Five6 · 19/11/2018 17:16

Typo aside (best one I've seen in a while)
I want to have a go at making a centre piece this year for my dining room table, and I don't have a holly bush, there is a beautiful one near my DDs school though, would it be totally CF of me to knock/pop a note through the door to ask for some Holly?
Obviously I wouldn't just go and take some, as I think that IS CFery!
But what are peoples opinions on asking? Those of you with holly bushes, would you be annoyed?

KalindaBlack · 19/11/2018 17:29

Well I am, though if they'd knocked and asked, I would have been fine.

Bet the berries are warts!! 😂

Rachelover40 · 19/11/2018 17:31

Loved the title, "Holy bush". Thought it was something else entirely.

RangeRider · 19/11/2018 17:34

If only it was a burning bush with the voice of God going 'step away from the bush' (preferably Brian-Blessed-style)

hmmwhatatodo · 19/11/2018 18:37

Snigger Grin

KalindaBlack · 19/11/2018 20:41

Goodness Shock I hope no one burns my holly bush!

Maybe it’s me Blush

I’ve been trimming interesting plants and leaves to use at my arts and crafts after school club! So sorry if it’s me. If it makes you feel any better I put my hand in dog shit when collecting fallen leaves.

KalindaBlack · 19/11/2018 21:14

No dog shit in my bush, just prickles.

I laughed at the typo as I expect did many others.

ForalltheSaints · 19/11/2018 21:17

RangeRider you must see one of the paintings in Tournai Cathedral, where God looks like Brian Blessed!

Sniggering aside, Iirc there was a thread on here last year (couple years ago?) where a florist was trespassing and helping herself to the OP’s holly and lopping swathes of it off for her floristry business, the police were involved and I think the CF was rather unrepentant.

KalindaBlack · 19/11/2018 21:33

To be fair, I did say to DH we need to trim back the overhangs a bit, but I did want to wait until the berries had gone so the birds can get at them first.

Santaispolishinghissleigh · 19/11/2018 21:39

Even Gillette won't get through your Holy bush!!

My exMIL used to do this (probably still does. Biggest CF I ever met...

TheLittleDogLaughed · 02/12/2018 04:25

Make sure your dh uses the lopers carefully on your holy bush, you wouldn’t want him to trim the wrong parts.

winniestone37 · 02/12/2018 09:02

@naicepineapple no you're not allowed to trim your neighbours overhanging plants actually- common misconception.
