Thinking of a trip to Laaandaaaan to visit the HP studio? What is the best time to go? Any other hints, tips, places to stay and other things we should visit would be gratefully received. Kids are 9 and 5.

There are a few things to see in the foyer and outside, plus a cafe and a huge gift shop full of wonderful, but expensive things, but it's better to get there about an hour before your time to get through security checks and queues and just go in.

Perfect - thank you!

Allow at least an hour if you plan to visit Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross. I have caught trains there and there has even been a long queue at 9am on a Saturday morning.

Thanks so much every one. I have booked up now - earliest time we could get was 3.30 and it closes at 8.00 so we should have 4 and half hours there which is probably not enough for DS (9) but more than enough for DD(5). Have also booked flights and hotel and we are ready to go...now what to do on the other days we are there. Definitely fancy a boat tour and a trip to the Tower of London. EXCITED!! Grin

Mytie if you’re planning on doing Tower of London I would also recommend doing Tower Bridge. You can check the lift times online and plan your visit around that. The bridge museum (other side of the bridge from the Tower of London) is really good and being on the bridge for a lift is a great experience. There are glass floors to see down below. My DC all loved it when we went.
