I’ve just been reading the kindness thread and someone mentioned Virgin trains, I was travelling with then a few weeks ago and both ways their staff were great.

On the way, a last sat next to me and realised she’d got on the wrong train, right destination but wrong time, the train manager was really kind to her as she was panicking and explained what she needed to do. Then as we arrived at our destination he did the usual tannoy as we were leaving but added on that there were some children on the train who were going to the pride of Britain awards and gave them a big congratulations.
On the return journey the train was 10 minutes late leaving, we had a connecting train to catch that we only had 9minutes between so we would obviously miss it, as the train manager came to check tickets I asked what time we were going to arrive, he says we might make it if the train manager to make up some time. He must have taken mental note of our destination because as we were approaching the station he started doing tannoys to update us on our specific connecting trains and how they were running, then as we were pulling into the station he did another to say that we should make it, which platform we needed and where was best to get off the train to get to the other platform the quickest, he really went out of his way to make sure we got our trains!

I have found B and Q to be really good. We are doing up our first place and have bought lots from them. Inevitably there have been times when we have bought too much or changed our minds on a paint colour. DH also went in about 5 times doing a 3D image for our new kitchen! Always so helpful and knowledgeable and never a single quibble over a return.

Amazon. Smashed my kindle screen. New one arrived within 24 hours at no cost because my cover should have protected it. Their call back service is also brilliant.

My bank. I went in one day to lodge money or something (can't remember why exactly), but the teller was rude, completely ignored me for about 5 minutes while chatting to her colleague behind the counter. I emailed their customer services department as I had been left standing like an idiot. I certainly didn't expect a response.
The next day a manager called me. He asked me to tell him what I was wearing as he would look at the CCTV.
The day after that, he called again saying he had checked the cctv and confirmed that I had in fact been left standing for 8 minutes with no interaction and that the member of staff would be spoken to (can't remember what exactly he said).
Then the day after that, the woman (bank teller) who had ignored me, rang me to personally apologise and to say that she had been unprofessional and hoped that I would accept her apology.
I'm still with that bank. (Lloyds)

I also find Morrisons really good to deal with. Nothing memorable really, but if you call about something, they will do anything to resolve your issue.
And another vote for Virgin trains. I had a massive cock up over Christmas and was refunded the entire journey. (I had missed the train).

Diane Von Fustenberg website.

I was a proper CF and emailed them because a dress I paid a fortune for went in the sale the very next day. I asked them if they would refund me the difference and they did. I didn't deserve it and was expecting an F Off. It wasn't a small amount of money either.

Lands' End. I needed a black skirt quickly for MIL's funeral and my nearest high street shops are a 220-mile round trip, so it had to be ordered online. I couldn't find an express delivery option at checkout, but delivery was 2-3 working days, which would have been fine. 48 hours went by without a dispatch notice, so I rang them the morning of the third day after I placed the order and asked if I could pay for it to be sent special delivery. They said the order was in the postroom, but they'd go down there and see if they could find it and upgrade delivery. It had already been picked up, so they packed up another skirt and sent it out special delivery, free of charge, with a returns label for me to send the other one back when it got there. They were so helpful and kind.

British airways. I was working in Spain and got a call to say my grandma had pneumonia and wasn't going to make it. They switched my flight to an earlier one at the airport then as soon as the plane had taken off moved me to an empty first class as had been upset and was bit embarassed (their suggestion, I didn't ask) , kept checking in on me and one of the cabin crew even offered to drop me to my car although I didn't accept. Then they let me off first. In the end she lasted a couple more days but I appreciated the crews kindness so so much.

Gentle birth - I downloaded the app and paid for it. The idea is that you can listen to the mediations whenever you want but for some reason my phone would only let me listen when I was online. I couldn't download my favourites and didn't want the WiFi on all the time. So they sent me a phone for the last few months of my pregnancy and first few months with baby. I was expecting a refund at most! And it was their idea, I would never have thought of it

Another one - Barclays. XH left me with huge debt and I was unable to work for some time due to DV injuries. I needed a mortgage and thought I had no chance. Gary, the bank manager, wherever you are all these years later, I could kiss you. You sat me down said I could have a mortgage there and then.

Tesco online groceries are always great.

Ordered a cutlery set- all the spoons were missing, they refunded them straight away when I rang.

Last week I ordered one box of Weetaflakes for DD, they were substituted with 3! boxes of Oatibix. Weetaflakes are only £1 per box and Oatibix are nearly £3 so to get 3 boxes I was chuffed.
