Our dog stays up until the last human goes to bed, and then follows them upstairs and sleeps on that person's bed, over the duvet but under a quilt.

ImogenTubbs · 17/11/2018 23:18

Same time as us but naps in the living room most of the evening. He won't even go out for a wee before bed anymore. He was abandoned and had really bad separation anxiety for a while so he did sleep in our room but we have successfully moved his bed into the hall although our door is open so he can come in anytime and does come and sit by the bed in the mornings.

Giggorata · 17/11/2018 23:20

Ours go between 10 and11. Sometimes they just get up and stare when they're ready, other times they are called for a last wee before bed. They have dog baskets in the boiler room.

Anytime from 9 pm onwards. Does like routine and gets upset if too much later than that.
Sleeps in her own bed on floor next to husbands side of the bed.

LEMtheoriginal · 17/11/2018 23:30

When we go - one on the floor of bedroom. The other on our bed. Sometimes the bed stealer falls asleep on the sofa and gets scared if he wakes up alone. He then barks like mad and makes a bolt for our bedroom - twat

She goes to bed in her crate in the boot room when we go to bed. She is normally very sleepy by 8 ish though in whatever room I might be in, on one of her numerous day beds.

Crimebustersofthesea · 17/11/2018 23:36

Takes himself up to (our) bed after his dinner, so about 6.30 usually. Then snoozes upstairs until he goes out for his bedtime walk just before we go to bed. Comes back to bed for a cuddle before going to sleep on his bed next to my side of the bed. Sneaks back up in the morning, time dependant on how cold it is!

elQuintoConyo · 17/11/2018 23:41

ConyoDog is currently asleep right across my feet - but she did wake to see what the hullaballo was when i laughed out loud at ChesneyHawkes1 's post - now she wants a single bed of her own covered in a Paw Patrol duvet! Preferably Rubble when he's dressed as Elvis Grin

ConyoDog has dinner at 8 and usually goes for a last wee around 9-9.30. Then she is out like a light on our bed. I love seeing her big pink nose and stretchy front paws first thing in the morning

eggncress · 17/11/2018 23:47

Usually goes to his bed when I go but if he’s had a lot more exercise than usual ( sometimes take him hillwalking) he has an early night.

Time varies depending on when we go up for the night but he sleeps in the kitchen on my favourite throw his blanket. I never let him sleep with us, he takes forever to settle - we had him with us when we first got him in order for him to feel safe but after a week of being trampled over and smelling his nasty farts I relegated him to the kitchen. Right now we are still in the kitchen listening to music/chatting away and he's finally settled down (has been on and off asleep since 9:30ish) but I would expect him to have a 5 minute madness when we get ready to go up (wanting to go outside for a wee, wanting cuddles etc) he will howl for me at 8:30am on the dot, always does no matter how late he mithers us but lucky for him I adore him so I don't mind getting up at that time on a Sunday!

SureIusedtobetaller · 17/11/2018 23:49

Sleeps from around 9, legs it upstairs if I look like I’m heading to the bedroom then sleeps on bed. Last wee around midnight then sleeps with us.
Very spoilt is Suredog. He will lie in till we make him get up most days too!
His first act in the morning is to stare at dh and huff at him till he gets a tummy rub. If ignored too long he goes for full on face lick.

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 17/11/2018 23:56

They go to bed when I do (only me, not DH or DS). If I choose to stay up late they will too, with lots of sad faces and sighing from them. One sleeps under the bed and the other on the floor beside the bed. They have several beds around the house, but they like to be near me.

Brigante9 · 18/11/2018 00:29

The main bed is in the lounge so they go on it when they feel like it. My old dog used to take himself off to the kitchen (3 beds in each room) by about 10 o'clock.

They’re usually spark out on sofas or their beds downstairs by about 9pm. They eventually drift upstairs and end up sleeping in their beds in our room at some point in the night.
I have found them in the DCs beds before too 😳

KeepServingTheDrinks · 18/11/2018 00:34

Wake ours up when the last person (usually me) goes to bed.

In her crate. Hate crating her (and she hates it too), but she's so wilful and destructive, we don't have a choice.

Occasionally try her again sleeping with us. She's sweet in the bedroom, and doesn't take up too much space unlike the old one, but unfortunately (a) if she wakes up in the night, she sticks her nose into places we'd rather keep for each other and (b) she finds things to chew that we'd really rather she didn't!

DaysofWineandNeurosis · 18/11/2018 00:49

I go to bed to watch tv from about 9 o’clock and all three snooze on the bed with me. About half 10 the little one starts making noises because she wants the others to go to bed. They all then go out for a last wee. The two big ones sleep in the Utility Room and the little one sleeps with us. Usually at the bottom of the bed, right where you want to put your feet.

LipstickTraces · 18/11/2018 03:09

The same time I do. She has a basket in our room, but usually sleeps on or under the bed depending on her mood!

vampirethriller · 18/11/2018 14:07

When I do and she sleeps on the bed behind my knees. Her favourite toy has to come too.

MrsElf · 18/11/2018 15:01

Ours mostly sleep downstairs after their dinner. We have a last quick walk at about 10, and they come in and go straight up to bed.
Our old boy huffs and stomps upstairs sometime between 10 & 11 if I don't let him out at the approved time. (If he's had a busy day he goes up earlier, and with less fuss.) He'll be on the human bed when I go up. He is fine indoors until morning, but if he's not settled yet I usually get my coat and call him back down again - the spaniel HAS to go out before bed, but that one sleeps with his nose against my feet until whenever.
I insist that 2 people in the bed = no dogs. They have dog beds in the bedroom. The lab is usually happy with that, he likes his own space and slithers down when he hears DH coming upstairs. The spaniel definitely prefers to sleep on our bed, touching me. He gets down at the last possible moment, and if I wake up, he's almost always sneaked back up. The lab occasionally climbs back on the bed if it's cold. He's a morning dog, (his belly is definitely my back up alarm clock) and disapproves of lie ins. Spaniel will stay in bed as long as we want to. They'll both have a minute in the garden, eat and go back to bed though, whereas once I'm out of bed I'm awake for the day.

SweetLathyrus · 18/11/2018 15:13

SweetDog sleeps on my bed from about 8/9pm, but if no one has gone to bed by 10pm, he comes and complains, then sits in the kitchen for his schmako and for one of us to kick the cat out of his crate!

adaline · 18/11/2018 15:19

He starts falling asleep downstairs between 8.30-9pm but comes up to bed with us when we go. We let him out for a wee around 10.30 then he sleeps through until morning, normally curled up next to my feet or behind my knees as I sleep with them bent!

SoyDora · 18/11/2018 15:24

Same time as us (10ish), and sleeps in his bed in the utility room.

fourquenelles · 18/11/2018 15:27

My three sleep for 21 hours a day anyway (retired hunters). They go out for their final wees at about 11.30 when I go to sleep.

I have a kingsize bed. My brindle sleeps on the pillow next to me and gives the stink eye to anyone, dog or human, who tries to usurp his position.

The big tuxedo boy sleeps along side me and the little guy either sleeps right on top of me or on the chaise in the next room. They have two beds in the front room along with a chair and sofa exclusively for their use.

They big dogs (greyhound types) but can curl up very small if needs be.
